    Yay!

Time for a Christmas list update:

Mr S birthday: book on making bread, solid wood chopping board, bottle of nice brandy, big bit of cheese (something of a food theme here - still to get the things in orange!)
Mr S christmas: 3 books, pen and pencil set, shower gel, socks, some stocking fillery things, maybe something else - a jumper?
Friend 1: book, hand warmers, hand cream, soap
Friend 2: book, bracelet, felt bag/ phone charm
Mum: CD, book, hand cream, soap, felt bag/ phone charm
Dad: 2 books, soap, knitted hat

So I think I'm all organised! I've picked up a few bits for the Christmas tree already (actually can't decide whether to buy one or chop a bit off one of our evergreens outside!) Getting the main bits of food this weekend (the stuff that can go in the freezer) and then it'll just be odds and ends.. still need to find that stocking too! Oh and we are doing Secret Santa at work so I need to find a present for one of the girls for a fiver or less.

I'm rather excited about the whole thing - very unlike me :D

  • Squizz!!! Hows things going?? Im going to look for online jobs this week and maybe some ebay selling before xmas!! Dya know that Itunes vouchers for £15 go for £18 on there?! What is that about!!

Is ur debt getting any lower? My fellas birrthday is right before xmas what a pain!!!!
Total debt £17,135 total paid off £525
  • Morning!

That's quite strange about the itunes vouchers! Birthdays just before Christmas are a pain - mind you mine is just after so not much better. Payday tomorrow so will be paying another chunk off the debt.. £300 I think although I need to check the amounts...

Didn't get far at the weekend - snowed quite a bit overnight on Friday so didn't want to drive in it on Saturday.. no farmers market for us :( Sunday was really icy - put our walking boots on and shuffled to the shop for the papers and food - spent the afternoon making soup and bread and flapjack (which fell apart :rotfl:)

Snowy again this morning but sadly still at work!

What a shame about the weekend .... crazy, isn't it, putting proper walking shoes on to go the local shop! Shame about being in work too :) you stay warm too.

    xx

  • Morning - back at work after another trudge through the snow - I love my walking boots! I slightly less love the fact that I am here and it is chucking it down with snow outside and is forecast to do so all day.

I also love the fact it is payday and I have just paid another £300 off my debt and am comfortably on route to be under £7k by the end of the year. But didn't love finding out that I do have to pay my OU fees  So used to separate finances that I didn't realise it took into account your household income... so no help for me! But anyway, I've paid it - £650! Thankfully had my flat deposit and second job pay which covered £370 between them, so I just need to make up another £280. So.. sig updated in both good and bad ways!

Aargh! It really doesn't seem fair, does it! You had a bit ready to put towards it, but still .... pants!

  • At least I'm in the position to be able to to do that - I wouldn't have been a year ago... mind you then I would only have had to take my income into account and I would have got help... but never mind! The main thing is I can do it, and actually it makes me more determined to make a good go of it when I've had to pay for it myself! And I can save up for the next course in advance.

    Quick budget for this month..

    In bank £1350

    Out
    Debts £300
    Rent £350
    Phone £15
    £665

    Remaining £685 - not bad huh? :)

    Morning!

    flapjack (which fell apart :rotfl:)

Mine either falls apart, or the classic was when I made some in a new non-stick backing tray, unfortunately the non-stick came off in lumps attached to the flapjack :o
