Sounds like the 50 day challenge is going well for you Squizz - I think I'm abandoning mine, letting life tell me what my priorities are - get the house ready for Christmas, get the accounts done, get well - *not* in that order!
PS - how are you going to work on blog followings?
I've set up a Twitter account which I post my blog postings on, that has probably generated most of the views I get. Have also followed quite a few but I know I should interact more - I'm happy to keep it ticking along at the moment though until I get used to the whole thing.
Shame about the plan, but getting well has got to be your priority - challenges can come after that!Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
The ways of the internet are passing strange..... but wonderful.
Doesn't matter about the 50 day plan, tbh - there were probably things in there that relate to what I'm actually doing now, but these things are really important - for my present day, and for my future, so I'm fine with it.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Sigh, Monday already. Weekend was good - Saturday was really lazy, we watched TV, ate stuff, watched Harry Potter, made a giant curry, got back on the sofa
Sunday fairly lazy too except we popped to the local farmers/ Christmas market - bought lots of cheese and the best black pudding I've ever tasted
Spent the afternoon reading the papers and being very cold until I put the fire on and wrapped myself in a blanket...
Today I just feel 'meh' and tired - work is sort of trundling along but I still have this anxious feeling about it.. ho hum.Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
Seems quiet round the forums today.. I'm still feeling a bit half asleep, not helped by doing some really mindnumbing work. Feel a bit in limbo at the moment as my Philosophy course is coming to an end and the next one doesn't start until the end of January - got lots of preliminary reading out of the library yesterday though
Have also pre-registered for the English one starting next October. I also had a look into the OU credit transfer arrangements, to find out what I need to do to stick all the bits together into a degree and how it affects your degree classification - basically, the greatest weight will be given to these two courses I'm doing next year, so I will have to try to do well (which of course I would be trying to do anyway)!
Got paid by second job today - £170, so bank balance is looking quite healthy at £342 a week before payday! Still got a few more bits to get for Christmas but not loads - I've decided on Mr S's birthday present and need to buy that too.
One month till I'm on holiday for nearly a fortnight - hooray!Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
Sounds good Squizz - it *looks* quiet on the forums today - I got my electricity back about 1pm, but needed to take care of some RL stuff before I came back on here - I wonder if people are really revving up for Christmas now?2023: the year I get to buy a car0

I'm revving down I think! So tired.
Quoting myself here but a little bit more from the awards thing last week. You may remember...redsquirrel80 wrote: »for some reason agreed to be filmed talking about the project, again, nothing like as awful as I thought it would be! One of the people I'm mentoring is quite shy and I kind of talked her up into joining in the filming too, and she really enjoyed it, so I was really pleased about that
I'd emailed this person about a few things the other day and got a really nice reply this morning which made meand a little bit
An edited version..
"Yes, it was lovely to meet up. Although I'm not so sure I would have done the 'talking head' bit without your encouragement so thanks for that - it was a really big hurdle for me.
I hope you don't mind me mentioning but I seem to recall you said something about possibly aiming to teach in the future, I think you should go for it as you're manner is very encouraging and you communicate ideas well."
How lovely of her
Today I'm hoping for a quiet day - off to a 'Stress Busting' course at lunchtime with a relaxation session at the end, hopefully that will be good!Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
How nice! Things seem to be taking off for you, from a really solid base of a genuine network and genuine impulses from you. It can get better and better, I think - but in your own time, I *know* what that tiredness feels like. Take care, and then the world is your oyster!2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Talking of impulses - we had an email at work yesterday to say there was a place available on the building 'green' committee. Guess who volunteered (thinking there might be a few people going for it) and was immediately signed up and asked to go to a meeting tomorrow?!
Just submitted my main philosophy assignment too - tempting to keep fiddling about with it but it was time to let it go!Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
Woo hoo :j I might be coming to you for advice on my green website in the new year
Congratulations!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Thanks! I'm quite excited about it, keep thinking of all sorts of things we could do.. but anyway, will see what the plan is at the meeting tomorrow.
Just back from the stress session.. wow it was good - the talk was all pretty much common sense but the guided meditation at the end was amazing - felt like just five minutes but was actually 20! The woman doing it is a hypnotherapist and her voice was so relaxing - the top of my head went tingly which was weird! Definitely going to try out some of her techniques, and try to download some meditations to listen to.. hmm does Hypno still have her website?Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0
