Yep, we're never "done", never finished, because we always have present day needs - and we have this pesky evolutionary thing of more-more-more: we're still hunter gatherers at heart!

Hooray it's Monday! Ummm... well OK, blaah it's Monday. It's so cold! I have so much work to do!

Have spent most of the weekend getting food, cooking food and eating food. Oh and providing food for the birds - made fatballs yesterday which was a very messy process. One of our local markets was on yesterday so we had a stomp/slide round in the snow/ice and got lots of bits and pieces, including some lovely hand-printed Christmas cards.. oh I wish* I was talented in making things.

I also rescued a few plants from the snow - the buddleia had got weighed down so much the tips of its branches were actually buried in the snow. So I've cut them back now and they are providing good places to hang said fatballs. Not sure how the veggies are surviving under the snow but I guess they will re-emerge at some point.

*Wishing I was better at things has been a bit of a theme the last few days. For some reason I keep having dreams about ballet dancing (which I did when I was younger), and there's been lots of articles about it in the weekend papers.. I was reasonably good at it, but as I grew up clearly wasn't going to have a dancer's build. I've also had serious attacks of jealousy about people who are good at arty and creative things, writing, academic stuff.. pretty much everything really. And I know a lot of it is about wanting to feel respected by other people. I'm just not entirely sure why it's raised its head now.

Anyway.. I haven't done a clothes post for a while (used to like doing these in my old diary), so here's today's cosy-ish but attempting to not look like a polar explorer outfit...

and as a glamorous outdoor addition...

LOVE love love the outfit Squizz. Could the dreams about ballet dancing be something to do with chat last week about you finding a hobby or two and having some 'me' time ? Have a good day :kisses3:

Like the outfit and the layering.

Are you going to look into ballet classes? It's supposed to be a good way of keeping fit and supple. If not ballet, why not some other dance classes?

I've just realised I'm not doing anything to cater/utilise my creative side, and I think I need to find something to add balance.

That dress is gorgeous....I'm not a dressy kind of girl but I do like that!

I'm sure the birds will appreciate the fat balls, I chucked out a load of stale biscuits/crackers and bread this morning and there must have been about 50 birds on my flat roof.....normally the seagulls scare off the little birds but I think they were all so hungry they didn't care.

The day before it snowed here last week, we had 2 adult and one baby squirrel running around the trees gathering as much as they could...one had a whole apple which was fun to watch as he hadn't quite worked out the whole "apple increases weight" thing and was trying to jump across branches but ended up dropping down a few feet each time.

:rotfl: daft squirrels (a bit like me!)

It's not quite that exact dress Pooky but very similar.

Elli - it could well be that, and Se, I have looked into classes before but was never brave enough to go along. I really wish Mr S would find a hobby as I always feel guilty going off and doing things, e.g. when I was running a lot.

This clearly needs some thought because I definitely need a) some time to myself (including some totally to myself) and b) some sort of other activities/ hobbies/ something.

I'm needing to go off and do things by myself too, the problem is finding ones where I'm not going to be thinking OH would love it, and so feel he's missing out!! If it's something I know he wouldn't like and would be bored to tears it would be OK, but we've got similar taste in most things, so a bit difficult. Also like you it's also partly the bravery thing of being willing to go to strange new things by myself a bit too.

Can definitely recommend yoga - I found a fab teacher but eventually the class got cancelled because too many dropped out :(

Note to self - look for new class in New Year !

I'm definitely going to be doing at least one class in the New Year, too right.

I must remember how people wear "dresses" these days - not on their own, but as part of a layered look.... aargh.

KC it's taken me a while to get my eye in too, I've had to intentionally go out people watching and window shopping :o

Maybe investing in Souk's time is the way to go :)
