What is the age gap between your kids?

3 years between our DDs - both born in the same month (almost on the same date), which means that in the same week 1 will turn 18 and the other 21 - better get saving up!! They are 10 and 7 now.0

I have ds 13, dd 10 (soon to be 11) and dd 3 . Everyone always assumes that the 3 year old was a mistake or unplanned - how wrong they could be. Was totally planned just took 6 years to convince dh that 2 is not always the magic number.0

Minmouse your 3 are the same age as mine and like you I had people asking if she was a mistake. Took me years to convince DH to have another one too but he's so glad he did now.0

My boys are 10 and 9 with eleven months between them - there should've been just over 12 months but DS2 came three weeks early so gets to gloat for a fortnight each year that he is the same age as big brother. Then a 5.5 yr gap and DD came along. I dote on her in a way I never had time to the lads and have really enjoyed being a parent of a little one again.
I was desperate for a girl in all three pregnancies and delighted and amazed when I got my DD. She was an accident though, not a last ditch attempt for a girl!. I love that my boys are boys and as soon as I had them wouldn't have changed them for anything.
Wish I'd followed DD up with another one a couple of years ago but was just too tired and over committed to do it. If I had another now there'd be another big age gap and it wouldn't give her a playmate like the boys have been for each other.
I do think both the tiny gap and the biggish gap have worked well for our family so would hapily recommend anyone to go either way.0 -

I have kids age 19 and 16 and baby of 2yrs,
, I am really going to enjoy this one.
This is almost exactly the age difference between me and my two sisters! I was adopted as a baby when my adopted dad was 46 and my adopted mum was 42. (Wouldn't be allowed these days!). My sisters are their natural children. Dad died in 1993 (a result of a road accident, aged 89), my sweet little mum died in 2001 aged nearly 95.
I am 56, my sister is 72, my older sister who died of Alzheimers earlier this year was just 75. When I was a year old, this sister got married; she had my eldest nephew before I was two. I was a Great-Aunt at 21.
My other sister lived at home till I was eight. It was wonderful; it was like having two mums! I gained 'street cred' because her boyfriends used to meet me from school. I still have a good relationship with her, but now I have taken over the role of 'older sister', offering her advice and help (although of course her daughter does far more than me!).
It's brilliant being the youngest by many years, you get petted and praised and basically spoilt to death. Hence, the above quote:'I am really going to enjoy this one'.
I have only one son, so the situation of age difference does not arise.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -
Just over 4 years between my sister and I, I'm 21 and she is 17. Fairly normal age gap.
My best friend's mum has DS 28, DD 25, DD 22 (my friend) DS 19, and DD of 3.5. She also has a granddaughter of 5 and a new grandchild, not sure if the baby is here yet or not. So 3.5 yr old was an aunt the moment she was born!Blood donations to date: 10 | Type: O negative0 -

I'm forever being asked if we'll have a third to try for a girl  , so I always answer 2 hands, 2 children.
