  • Ahhh, congratulations on the new 'baby'.

My friends called theirs Evie cos they got her last Xmas Eve!!

I'm sure there must be 'puppy name books' out there, there are loads of ones for baby names:rotfl::rotfl:. If not we have just discovered a niche in the market!!

  • Yes I got her, couldn't resist in the end. She's lovely but I'd totally forgotten how time consuming a puppy can be. I'm not complaining though, she's great company. I think she's pining a bit for her mum, but she's starting to chew things now, so I think she'll be ok :T

I've bought her a chewy toy, but at the moment she prefers my slippers. I'm trying to be firm with her and nip it in the bud! I'm taking her to the vets tomorrow for her first jab.

Received a copy letter yesterday that my Sol is sending his. She's awesome! I wish I could post it up on here for you to read. She puts my points across really well, but stops just short of being too firm............if you know what I mean :) I bet the bill for this will be horrendous :eek::eek: but worth every penny!

She thinks its better for me to formalise contact arrangements with DS3 if H persists in moving the goalposts whenever I arrange to meet him. I'm seeing him straight from school tonight, so I'm going to try to explain to him about the letter before he gets home and H puts the boot in. I want him to know that its just so that I can be sure of seeing him on certain days, cos I miss him. The last thing I want is for him to feel torn.

It snowed here last night, and still snowing on an off this afternoon. When I tried to put doggy out for a wee this morning, she took one look at the white stuff, gave me a disgusted look and just walked past me back into the house :rotfl:

I really need to pick up on my knitting again tonight, or I'll never finish in time for Christmas. I've had too many distractions :(

Payday yesterday and was paid less than expected. I thought they must have made a mistake, till I checked it and realised I hadn't worked as many weekends in November. I'm working over NY so next wage should be nice, but I'll have to put the weekends in! Once Christmas is out of the way I can get serious with the saving again.

Don't know if anyone gets the Daily Mirror, but there's a £5 voucher in today's paper. You get £5 off if you spend £30 in Lidl. (worth having if you have a Lidl nearby).

List of things to do tomorrow:-

    1. Take doggy to vet.
    2. Think of name for doggy (preferably before taking to the vet!).
    3. Do my shopping in Lidl (to use £5 voucher).
    4. Make Christmas shopping list (just can't seem to get in the swing
    for Christmas yet!).
    5. More puppy housetraining!
    6. Knit, knit, knit!

  • Hi everyone, hope everyone is keeping warm!

It was -12 when I left for work this morning. When I had my shower, my little shower puff was frozen and my toothbrush was frozen to the toothbrush holder

My new little baby is fitting in fine, but she's been poorly. I think its a side effect of the vaccination she had on Friday, its been both ends going all weekend poor little thing. She's only been here for a week, but I think she's already getting the idea of going outside to wee, but she was poorly yesterday, so she didn't quite make it to the back door, but she was headed in the right direction :T

DS3 loves her.............I knew he would. Things moving pretty quickly divorce wise. There's a slim chance of the decree nisi being pronounced just before Christmas........but its a very slim one. It'll probably be early Jan.

Going to view a house at the end of the week. I know I'm jumping the gun a bit, but its a bargain and very close to my parents house. Its been on the market for a while and I've had my eye on it, so there's probably something wrong with it 'cos it seems too good to be true! If its not for me, then I can put it out of my mind. On the other hand, it could be perfect and could sell before I get my settlement, which would be disappointing, but if I see it and I don't like it, then I can concentrate on looking for somewhere else, if you know what I mean!

Listed a few things on ebay last night. I could do with a few extra pennies before Christmas. One item with bids and a few with watchers.

I did something silly last week. I bid on some bits and bobs for my kitchen and completely forgot all about them till this morning. Its taken me 5 days to pay for them. I sent the seller a message to apologise, but I wouldn't blame her for being annoyed........I would be! I usually pay for things straight after the end of the auction but I had so many distractions last week, it slipped my mind completely :naughty: no excuse I know!

Right, better go and look busy.

    Keep warm!

  • Today is the coldest day I can remember!

I had icicles inside my bathroom this morning

Very very quiet at work today, but at least I managed to make it here. We had quite a bit of snow in the village, but it seems to be clearing slowly now.

Had a staff meeting yesterday, with my line manager and some of the section heads. Its not as bad here as it is in some places, but there will be some redundancies (starting with voluntary). Fortunately for me, they've decided that they're "management heavy" so the cuts will be starting from the top down. Not so good if you're a manager :(

Didn't see DS3 last night because of the snow, hopefully I'll see him tomorrow night :T

I hope you're all keeping warm!

    Oh my goodness...icicles INSIDE - brrrrrrrrrr:eek::eek::eek:

What name did you call your wee girl? Hope she's feeling better:)

Good news about work and exciting stiff re house viewing:D Mine has been on the market since summer so who knows when I'll sell - originally had hoped to be moved into lovely new house by now but ho-hum..

I've been good though and upped overpayments to what I reckon new mortgage will come in at so shouldn't receive too much of a shock when I eventually do move!

Okay another confession from me: I bought Ugg boots...eeeeekkk (although did do cashback from QUIDCO which I usually forget to and put birthday money towards them :money:) due to awful weather though they've not been delivered as yet:(

Okay no more spends for me - FOCUS Nattypants FOCUS;)

  • I think I should re-name this diary "if I can make a mess of it.........I will!".

I had to call out the landlord last night. When I got home from work the water in the toilet was frozen solid and I was worried about burst pipes in the bathroom.

I won't go into any details, but he saw the pup and said that she has to go or he'll terminate the tenancy. :(:(:(

Its my fault, I should have read it through properly before jumping in with both feet and bringing her home.

My friend took her to a re-homing centre this morning, I couldn't face it. I'm gutted! Its a lovely place and I know they'll take good care of her. The lady I spoke to told me that a puppy like her will be rehomed in a matter of days.

    Update:
My friend just phoned. He's taken her to the centre and one of the ladies there, an experienced dog handler took one look at her and decided on the spot to take her on. So thats that, she's gone :(

Its so typical of me, and one of the reasons I'm so c**p with money...........I let my heart rule my head and don't think things through properly. It always gets me into trouble.

I need to learn to take a step back and think things through before jumping in with both feet and making a mess of things. I can just hear the ex now..........he'll love this

Oh so sorry to read. Hugs really.

Yes of course ex can use that to point finger but you are stronger than this. It is a setback to toughten you up, once you have your own place, you can have a pup so all steam to work to this goal. Cheer up

:grouphug:Oh that's so sad for you. It's difficult to know what to say.

Don't beat yourself up because after having your own home for so long I'm not surprised you didn't take in all the details of the tenancy agreement. It won't be the same but when you have your own place in the new year, you'll be in control not the landlord.

Hope he has sorted out the frezing bathroom.
  • Thanks for the hugs Maman and Karom :)

Yesterday was a weird day. Started off feeling really negative and extremely fed up about everything but seeing DS3 and viewing the house last night gave me a huge boost.

I know that I'm probably months away from being in a position to even think about buying anywhere, but just having a look and seeing what might be possible next year gives me something to aim for, so no more negativity.
My bathroom is fixed and I've borrowed a leccy fire from my parents. My meter is spinning even faster, but what's a few extra pounds off my budget compared to an icicle falling on me when I'm lying in the bath (could be lethal!) :rotfl::rotfl:

Nattypants - I hope the Uggs are keeping you warm. Mine are really tatty now, but I'm wearing them today and my feet are nice and toasty. Be careful if you go out in them tho, as mine are lethal on ice and snow.

Right, I'm off to update my signature. Have a good day everyone x
