  • Happy Boxing Day :j

Yesterday was awful :( BF and I tried our best to make it a merry one, but despite our best efforts I ended up on a downer :( I just missed the boys so much it put a dampener on everything. Our lunch was lovely (the turkey crown is huge, we'll be eating turkey till easter!) and the Christmas telly was great, but it just wasn't the same. I don't want to sound like a moaning minnie.............at least we're all healthy, warm and able to pay our bills!

Today on the other hand was brill :j:j.
The boys have been here all afternoon and have only just left. I cooked a leg of lamb from the half lamb I bought just after I left H. I'd been saving it for a special occasion, and today was just that :)
It can't have been easy for them, but we had a lovely afternoon.

I'm sitting here now in my Snugglewrap (a pressie from BF), BF is on the Xbox360 (he brought it with him for xmas!), I have a glass of wine and a box of Lindt choccies. I couldn't wish for anything else :)

Very belated Seasonal Greetings to you SL.

Reading your post, I thought that you've got that horrible first Christmas over, done and dusted. It's never easy but as your boys are that much older you won't have the years of making arrangements to transport children back and forth that often happens when parents split up. By next year, I'm sure everything will be so much simpler. You'll very likely be back in your home town, hopefully in your own house and finances will be much better for you. The only way is up!!!!

So glad to hear that today was so much better. Just think that what you've experienced happens in so many families when children themselves fly the nest.

    Here's looking forward to 2011!!!!
  • Good Morning everyone!

Hi Nattypants, Maman, I hope you had a fab Christmas :T

Maman................you're absolutely right, Christmas must be really difficult when parents with really young children split.

As you say, its done and dusted now and next year can only get better.

I'm wondering if I should start a new diary. I want the new year to be a fresh start. I can't wait to start showing 2011 who's boss :D

    Hi Snowdonlily

Yeah - take 2011 by the balls and make it YOUR year:T

As Maman says perhaps in your own home where the boys can spend time....last night I prepared my 2011 IN/OUT spreadsheet and this morning I feel so much more in control **of course I am desperately trying to stay away from the sales**

Hope the weather has improved in Wales....we're expecting it to be 4 degrees where I am tomorrow. Best hunt out that Hawian Tropic:D:D

  • Afternoon everyone :)

I've just started a new diary. I know I'm jumping the gun and its not quite 2011 yet, but the New Year is going to be a fresh start for all of us and I couldn't wait till the 1st to get cracking.

I waited a long time to get my new start and I'm going to do everything within my power to make sure its a solvent one :D

I hope you'll keep posting on my new diary 'cos you're encouragement is invaluable and I promise to do the same for you whenever possible :T

I'll try and post a link to the new one, but I don't know if it'll work:o

Happy New Year everyone, its going to be a good one
