Hi everyone, hope you're all keeping warm
I made it into work today. It feels like a real achievement! It took me half an hour to defrost my car. The temp inside was
-17.5 and it kept freezing up as fast as I could defrost it!! I have never EVER seen it so cold.......but I believe its even colder in some parts of the country
I wish I could show you how beautiful the mountains are looking this morning. Snowdon is looking amazingI should have stopped to take a photo!
My ebay sales have been really good this weekend. I sold 6 items last night. I think there must be a lot of bored snowbound people out there .................. but I'm definitely not complaining
I did some freelance work for my old boss over the weekend which should bring in about £100. The only snag is that I can't get to him at the moment to give him the bill because of the snow. That and the fact that he's not very quick to pay me  Still, he does pay me in the end so at least if the money isn't in my account till after Christmas, I can't spend it!
I've done a LOT of lurking here over the last few days and picked up a few good ideas on how to be more MSE. One of the challenges I liked was the one where you don't spend more than £100 on clothes in the year. I'm going to change this a little bit for me, because if I set myself a challenge that's too difficult, I'm doomed to failure before I even start. So, I'm going to divide the year into 12 individual challenges. I'll start by aiming not to spend anything at all on clothes in January 2011 and so on. At the end of the year, if I have more "no clothes spend" months than "spend months" I will be v.v. happy:)
I've reactivated my Lightspeed account and am pretty close to having enough points to send off for a £10 voucher :T:T
The £30 I would have spent on my works party on Saturday is still in my jar and I have about £7.50 left in my purse (which I've forgotten to put in my handbag this morning, so today will be another NSD) to last me till payday on Weds (plus £35.00 in the Bank). You were right Maman, £95 was perfectly do-able.
I haven't seen my sons for days now because of the snow. I speak to them several times a day and we text, but I need a hugI used to keep in touch with DS1 and DS2 (who are both at Uni) on FB but since the split (for reasons I won't put on here) I've had to give up on FB
Trying to put a positive spin on being snowed in, I've only used half a tank of petrol this week and have had 4 NSDs in a row :T:T
I 'spose now that I'm here I'd better go and do some work! Take care everyone and keep warm xTotal debt at LBM £26k+Total debt now £16,494.40Tesco CC 11/2/11 Total - £1,387.20 - Now £00 -
Ended up finishing work early this afternoon.
The electricity went off at 2.30pm so we all went home. No power means no tills, no computers and more importantly...........no heating :eek::eek:
Shortly after I came home, my neighbours came over to fill their buckets with water.................they're all frozen up next door
So........... after they went, I spent the next half hour filling all my buckets with water for the loo and a few saucepans with water for the kettle, just in case I end up frozen too!
I spent the rest of my evening photographing the remainder of my stuff ready to ebay. Ive got a load of other stuff left at my former home, but the soon to be ex still won't let me have them.
I'm sitting by the fire now with a box of Lindt and a glass of wine:beer:
I'm getting really frustrated with Lightspeed. I've spent about 30 minutes on a survey and almost got to the end only to be told that I've been screened out cos I don't meet their requirements. Why does it take them 98% of the survey to reach that conclusion?:mad::mad:Total debt at LBM £26k+Total debt now £16,494.40Tesco CC 11/2/11 Total - £1,387.20 - Now £00 -
Just checked my bank balance online. Credit Expert have taken £7.99 from my account. I cancelled my trial membership last week and they've sent me an email confirming cancellation. I'll be on the phone with them again first thing tomorrow :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:Total debt at LBM £26k+Total debt now £16,494.40Tesco CC 11/2/11 Total - £1,387.20 - Now £00

I stopped using Lightspeed for that very reason. They have all your details anyway, so why do they send a survey in the first place if you don't meet the demographic? Most other surveys screen you out in the first few questions and some don't screen you out at all (Yougov for example don't screen you out but it does take several years to build up enough points to get some money off them).0 -
Ok, the snow can go now.......its been nice, but thats enough!
Snowed in yesterday and today, I've never seen so much snow
Walked two miles to the PO this morning to post some ebay items and almost got myself run over in the process by a skidding car. Not the driver's fault, the roads are unbelievable, there's been no gritting worth talking about. The poor lady driver looked terrified.
Spent the afternoon listing all the stuff I photographed on Monday night. Nothing left to ebay now till the ex starts being reasonable and lets me go and collect the rest of my stuff
I'm making chicken jalfrezi tonight, my friend is coming over (if he makes it!) and I'm cooking
Hope everyone is keeping warm xTotal debt at LBM £26k+Total debt now £16,494.40Tesco CC 11/2/11 Total - £1,387.20 - Now £00 -
Snowdown have a lovely Christmas, hope you enjoy maximum your little ones (that may not be so little) xMFW on your mark0

Well look on the bright side the 2 mile walk each way will help with the feeling good about yourself, and the losing weight goal. So the snow can be a positive:D
Sorry to hear your EX (nearly), is being such a pain. Hope you can sort it soon. And even worse about the valuer. Check if what he is doing is ok with your solicitor...
I hope you have as pleasant a christmas as you can have
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

Morning everyone............hi Karom and Chevalier, thanks for saying hi
Its been a funny sort of week this week. I've only managed to work 3 days out of 7 and even those three days, I've only managed to stay at work for a couple of hours. I really couldn't believe how much snow fell in such a short amount of time
Anyway, quite a bit has happened in the last few days. I introduced my "friend" to the boys as my BF
I haven't said anything on here because it didn't feel right talking about it till the boys knew all about it (and I wasn't sure if a certain person uses MSE......but I think that's probably highly unlikely!). Sorry, I'm rambling (I'm just excited cos its Christmas).
The boys were FAB, I'm very proud of them.............and I told them so (several times :rotfl:)
DS3 spent the day with us yesterday and they got on like a house on fire, they were even ganging up on me in Asda
He's here with me over Christmas and the boys will be here for lunch with the two of us on Boxing Day.
Today is going to be spent cleaning and cooking. I'm taking the boys out for a meal this evening. Just the 4 of us. Can't wait. This Christmas is going to be very strange for all of us, but we're going to make the best of it and I'll make Boxing Day my Christmas Day when I have all my favourite men around me :T
Okay.........I'd better go and do something constructive.......like make the stuffing
Take care everyone and I hope everyone reading has a really Happy Christmas and everything they want in 2011 xxTotal debt at LBM £26k+Total debt now £16,494.40Tesco CC 11/2/11 Total - £1,387.20 - Now £00 -
