Hey Snowdonlily:wave: I'm glad you're feeling more positive - I agree with Karom and Maman....don't beat yourself up over this, it's very, very easy to let your heart rule your head ESPECIALLY as you've been through a really tough time and needed something nice to focus on.

You will be in a most fantastic position when the time is right to make that house purchase:D meanwhile your debt will keep keeping going down and you will feel more and more in control of your life;)

Uggs still haven't arrived and really fed up with the weather - can it possibly snow any more in Scotland????

    Keep cosy all:)

Glad to hear you sounding a bit more positive Snowdonlily, it seems like the houseviewing and DS3s visit were good therapy.

We've had one single (but heavy) fall of snow here on Wednesday night. It's still lying on the ground but all roads clear and driveable. Seems I'm in the right part of the country!

When do other DSs get back for Christmas? What are your plans?
  • Bore da, good morning!!

Hope everyone's ok. I hope the Uggs have arrived by now NP. Only a few small flurries of snow here last night, no more on the ground thank goodness but its really cold.

I've been up for ages this morning, I've even done the hoovering!

I finished knitting the mittens for DS1's GF last night, just the scarf to go. They don't look too bad really, they just need making up now.

At a risk of sounding like scrooge.................I can't wait for Xmas to be over so I can get back to some serious moneysaving. I wonder if I've turned over a new leaf at last cos I'm hating seeing the money leave my bank account!

You're right Maman, looking over that house did me the world of good. Its good to have something to focus on. I don't know if anyone's read the "Shopaholic" books (I've just read the new one). I called in the supermarket on my way home from the house viewing and had to stop myself buying a load of "house" mags (just like she does in the book!).

Meeting DS2 for dinner tonight, he's home for the weekend :j. DS1 won't be home until after the 17th. Can't wait to see them. I just wish they were all coming home to my house.

I'd best go and put my face on before I go to work or I'll be driving all the customers away!

Have a good Saturday and stay warm x

Excellent to see you more positive. I know what you mean about house mag, they are so very tempting... about other people's idea about what your house should look like LOL yeah right. Seriously we are human beings with free will and taste and don't need to be dictated (rant over on the woman's and house's mag). No snow over here, all gone :)

i'm like you snowdonlily i get to the point when i am fed up with spending money on xmas and glad to get back to normal payments to my debts but this year have been more conservative with my spending no silly little things and everything purchased people will use. I've started to listen to what people want, even if it is'nt something i would'nt have thought to buy them, if it's what they want and i can afford it then they can have it.

Sorry about puppy one day you will have one and will cherish it, keep thinking happy thoughts about the house. Those houses that are in those fancy magazines do you think people actually live in them, they look lovely but i often think they are'nt practical. A house should be for living in never mind if you are messy.

No snow but plenty of rain today which got rid of any snow that was left.

    Big hugs x.

Morning everyone. Its a beautiful day here, v.v.cold but nice and sunny. Not working today so will be pottering about here trying to get everything done.

Karom and Amber you're absolutely right, the homes in those magazines aren't practical.

Saw DS2 last night. It was so nice to see him. I won't see him again now till Christmas :(. This cottage was a godsend in the summer when I left H but its too far from my family which sends my monthly petrol bill sky high!

    Things to do today:-

    1. [STRIKE]Hoovering [/STRIKE]
    2. [STRIKE]Clean all wooden floors[/STRIKE]
    3. [STRIKE]Washing[/STRIKE]
    4. [STRIKE]Ironing[/STRIKE]
    5. [STRIKE][STRIKE]Organise Christmas shopping (see if I need to get anything else[/STRIKE])[/STRIKE]
    6. [STRIKE]Knit some more[/STRIKE]
    7. If I have time, write some Chrissy cards
    8. [STRIKE]List some more stuff on ebay (free listing day today).[/STRIKE]
Phew, I'm tired just looking at the list! Coffee first I think ;)

I have a confession to make! I was fed up last night after leaving DS2............so, when I came home I opened a box of Thorntons chocs I'd bought as a gift for someone :D I hardly ever eat chocolate 'cos I have migraines, but last night I just had to have some, which means one extra gift to buy :mad:

Love it :) I did the same with a box of 12 mini mince pies I bought to bring to my family on Wed (they are in France thus can't get any).
