Morning everyone, hi nattypants, I'm fine thank you, been a busy few days. Glad the satnav lady did her job for you. Its an early start for me this morning
Went to the cinema on Thursday evening to watch RED. I enjoyed the film (and the company) and had a lovely evening. Had a day off yesterday so we both went shopping. Bought a few Christmas pressies for the boys and a HUGE saucepan.
I don't know if anyone out there's heard of it, but in Wales we have a dish called "Lobscows", some people call it "scouse". Its a lovely thick soup made from potatoes, carrots, swede, onion, lentils and chunks of stewing steak. Its not worth making unless you make enough to last a few days, as the taste just gets better on the 2nd and 3rd day....................hence the new panso you know what I'll be doing on my day off tomorrow! That should keep me warm at work all week
Never been to IKEA nattypants. I think the closest is about two hours drive from here. SIL loves it though!
Nothing put on the CC yesterday.. (thank goodness).
Just checked my items for sale on ebay. No bids yetbut I've had a message from the buyer who bought a dress to say that she wanted her money back as the seam had split. I'm 100% positive it was perfect when it left here, but it looks like I'll have to refund her. She probably decided that she didn't like it
Oh yes! bought some lovely wool yesterday to knit a scarf and some gloves for DS1's girlfriend. I could have bought about 5 scarves for what the wool cost me...........not very MSE

Well done on the CC free-spend:T and the soup sounds great...even although I don't eat that much meat it STILL sounds delicious.
Hope the ebay sales pick up - will the lady who bought the dress return it to you before you refund? (I've only bought of ebay twice in my life however have never sold).
It's still MSE that you knit - I'm sure if you bought scarf and gloves made with top quality wool they would cost an absolute fortune! I'm sure your DS's GF will be delighted with such a thoughful present:):) be proud of yourself:T:T:T

MND - Let's go for 2020 'cos it's got a nice ring to it:D

Except you're not comparing like with like. You can't compare a mass-produced scarf made with acrylic 'wool' and with the same design worn by thousands of people, to a unique hand-knitted piece made with quality yarn. I'm sure your son's GF will love it.0 -
Afternoon everyone!
Peaceandfreedom, you're absolutely right about the scarf, lovely wool and made with love:)
Hope everyone is having a lovely Sunday. No work for me, so I've been cleaning all day. The best thing about living in a tiny house is that there's not much house to clean
Confession time again............I was a naughty girl yesterday. Went for a walk in my lunch hour and bought myself a £38 Kath Kidston bag  I'm really angry with myself but I just couldn't resist buying myself something girly.
I really need to get my focus back, so tomorrow needs to be a NSD.Total debt at LBM £26k+Total debt now £16,494.40Tesco CC 11/2/11 Total - £1,387.20 - Now £00 -
or tomorrow can be returning the item to Kath Kidston and getting a refund. Can always say that you got it for a Bday or Christmas and just found out that the intended recipient has got it ????

Where I come from ( S Wales) we just called it 'stew' but I know Welsh speaking friends called it 'caul'. We didn't traditionally put lentils in a beef stew and but it as a thin broth with loads of veg and often dumplings (or doughboys), very similar to the French Pot au Feu. Always put lentils in the ham variety though, called it 'pea soup' and I made some yesterday. Yum! Yum!
Snowdonlily, I'm a sucker for Cath Kidston and Emma Brdigewater but I had a much cheaper buy yesterday. EB crackkers in TK Maxx. I bought some for the table on Christmas Day and some miniature ones for DD1 (who loves EB) for decorating her tree. Don't suppose you have TK Maxx near you?0 -

Afternoon everyone.
Hi Karom, thank you for that. You can be proud of me, I took the bag back this lunchtime:A. It hadn't occurred to me to take it back (honestly!). I never used to be a "girly" girl, but lately seem to be drawn like a magpie to pretty, flowery, shiny things.
Maman, the "scouse" was lovely, I'm having it again tonight, and have frozen loads too. It'll be even better second time around.
I hadn't come across Emma Bridgwater before, but I've just checked out her website, she's got some lovely stuff. The nearest TKMaxx is about 30 miles away, so not too far
Four ebay items ended last night, with no bids! Haven't had that happen for a while. I'll just have to relist them and hope they sell second time around.
Really cold here this morning. The temp inside the car was -3.5. The de-icer I bought at T****s was absolutely useless.......it just kept freezing up again as soon as I got back in the car
Just had to phone the letting agent. One of my storage heaters isn't working as it should be. Hopefully they'll send someone out to have a look at it. I've been spoilt in many ways (not all) till now, but nowadays everyday brings a new challenge, mostly small ones thank goodness! From reading the diaries on this forum, I know that a lot of people are so much worse off than me and are dealing with huge obstacles with positivity and without losing their sense of humour. You're a huge inspiration!
Right, I spose I'd better get back to work, lunchtime over. Its so cold here I have my thermals on, a shirt, jumper and a fleece. I'm toying with the idea of putting my scarf on x

I bought 2 lots: £7.99 for 6 large polka dot ones for the table on Christmas Day and £3.99 for 6 small ones which are pink with little mice on for my DD1. She'll use them to decorate her tree I expect.0 -
