hiya anna, from what others have said on here and flyingpigs thread, the snowman poop and reindeer food goes quite well. Not sure about the teabag cards some people have had great response, others not so great. Just sit and smile and chat to anyone who stops at your stall
good luck with itSPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £225/£10000 -
I did a Christmas market last weekend and one thing I did was to pop my leftover candy canes into a glass jar and sold them for 10p each. It was a great way of getting the kids over to the stall.
Good luck everyone with their forthcoming fairs! I've got another weekend of it coming up and we are in a marquee! I've got to buy some thermal insoles, leggins and tshirt because it's going to be cold!!Cos I don't shine if you don't shine.0 -
I have my first stall this Friday at a School PTA evening - I am really nervous and so much still to do for it.
*deep breath*
well not 'so much' but still quite a bit in an already busy week.
I am just worried nothing will sell!I miss using my infinite coupons at Tesco!
2010 was the worst year ever
But 2011 so far has been a lot of fun! :j

Well I had my first stall on Sunday....unfortunately the North East also had the worst snow in November for about 25years. It finished an hour early as people were having to be dug/pushed out of the car park and public transport was all off because of the weather. I sold christmas themed baked goodies and had a biscuit decorating table. We pushed 3 other cars onto the main road and were shovelled out of our parking space with the help of others - very community spirited!
It was fab, I really enjoyed myself! I had loads of children pay 50p to decorate 2 plain biscuits and take them home and some enjoyed it so much they bought my bags of plain biscuits (for the kids to continue decorating at home). I think I had over 20 children in only 3 hours which I think was really good. GENIUS moment of the whole thing was using glue spreaders for the kids to spread the icing (I mixed it up nice and thick). It was less messy and had less waste!
I sold:
Reindeer food - 50p (small paper bags like bird seed)
Reindeer Poo - 50p (80g bags)
Snowman Poo - 50p (used mini marshmallows)
Packs of festive biscuits - £1 (packs of 7no 3"x2" home-made shortbread or gingerbread biccies either xmas trees, reindeer or stars)
I made about £18 which I was really pleased at because of the bad weather and the fact it finished early, and as it was a church/school organised one they asked for 10% of sales as a donation to pay for your table so I didn't have to give away all my takings.
The children loved the activity part (I had some ready-mixed icing and little pots of sprinkles, jelly sweets and squeezy writing icing I had in my baking cupboard) nothing too OTT.
The best sellers were definately the reindeer poo - I did some raisin and some chocolate honeycomb but I suppose you could do peanuts. Then the packs of biscuits.....but I think this was because the decorating was such a hit. The reindeer food didn't sell as well as I'd hoped but after my hubby was sent for a spy around the other stalls we discovered lots of other people were selling it too!
Hubby has since polished off the reindeer poo and i'm going to give the reindeer food/elf porridge to a friend who is a teacher as gifts for her class. The remaining biscuits are going to my MIL who is a nurse - for the staff & patients on her ward.0 -
Good Luck Heatherbelle, sure your PTA evening will go well, you will have to let us know how you get on
missworks2jobs - sounds like you had a fantastic time. I was effected by the weather on Sunday too, hardly had anyone through the door to the fair at all. I have lots of reindeer food and elf poop left, so if my fair on sat is cancelled I thought about giving it away to a local school, or if anyone on here has another fair booked in where they could sell it just PM me and we could sort something out.

Just thought I would update everyone. My fair on Saturday went ahead. Up until lunch I had taken only £15 and was getting very disheartened. I have spent a lot of time and money making everything, for very little return and although I did enjoy making the items, it would be nice to sell them also. Anyway after lunch I then sold my first Nappy Cake ever!! It was fantastic, and then this started the selling off. People were buying 4/5 items at a time. I ended up taking £100 which I was very happy with
Best sellers were the pint of socks (12 sold). Cookie cutters 10 sold, Flannel cupcakes (6 sold) and snowman Soup (4 sold)
How did everyone else get one??Got enagaged 2nd May 2010

My mums friend own a hairdressers and asked for some bits so sent over a good mix of stuff and between 4 and 6 of each item she sold it all in 2 days so asked for more sent over £300.00 worth of stuff and again nearly all gone so if some of you know anyone who owns a hairdressers maybe ask them to have a box of your stuff for you
and best of all she doesnt want any money for selling it but i will give her some inside a card to say thank you in the near year she is going to have my baby gifts in there

funny you should say that as the lady who wants to add me as a supplier started out doing the same thing! so my mum is going to talk to her hairdresser in the village and also the lady who's gym she goes to, to ask if we could have a small display case there with my stuff for a commision off the sales
always worth asking local companies
am also thinking of talking to the local independant wedding shops as alot of my necklaces are very delicate and more for special wear than everyday
