Hi everyone, was going to start a new thread, but thought this one more appropriate! doingmy first craft fair next week and im really struggling with prices, a few of the things im doing; Snowman Soup (bags) reindeer food and Yappy christmas dog treat bags.
They are 6x5 bags so a decent size, i thought about £1 a bag, i just hope thats not too much, only if i sold them at 50p id only be making around 20p on each, selling at £1 means i make around 80p.
I definately think the snowman soup will sell at £1, but the dog treats and the reindeer food im a bit worried, cost me 20p to make inc the card for the toppers, i guess what im really asking is what others would charge, and how much profit do you aim for?
ive rambled now lol0 -
Im having an indoor carboot sale but i am going to sell some home made things too like Snowman Soup, Flannel Cupcakes, Reindeer food, Snowman/elf poop and Sweet Kebabs.
Im hoping itl spark some interest and ppl might want to order things for stocking fillers etc xx0 -
I usually multiply the cost of materials of handmade items by 3, and multiply the cost of re-sale items by 1½ or 2. This doesn't always work out, as sometimes they will be too expensive if the materials cost is high, so I have to charge less. Normally if I take £100 at a fair, then about 40% (£40) is materials costs, 10% (£10) stall fee, 10% (£10) liability insurance, petrol plus other extras like raffle prize, then about 40% (£40) is profit for me. Not much as hourly rate for making things, but just about covers minimum wage for the day of the fair!
Having said that, so far this year profit per stall has been non-existant (I made a loss) or about £10 ! But the schools are the best, and they start on Sunday so hopefully things will improve!0 -
I did my first craft fair in ages on Saturday, and while trade wasn't exactly brisk, I did rehome some decoupaged giraffes and teacup candles, plus a baby hat or two.0

Has anyone got any updated ones?
I am doing a wedding fair and a craft fair in a couple of weeks and would love some ideas please.0 -
I haven't been able to read through all the posts as there are a lot, but most people like to come away with 'something' so I'd say make some cheap things for about £1 that people can buy. Hair things are really good, little hair clips, or scrunchies from fabric scraps. Especially things kids get with pocket money too.0

I'm also wondering what i should take to a wedding fair??0
