Cold Weather Payments

DL1 is my postcode not sure which station applies in that report. ESA period is 6/12 - 11/13
Thanks Robbie640 -
It's Linton-on-Ouse. According to the CWP annual statistics there was 1 trigger for Linton-on-Ouse in the entire winter of 2012/13. It will most likely have been one of the two weeks ending 23 or 30 January 2013. I live in an area covered by a weather station just up the north east coast from you, we had two triggers for a CWP and those were the two weeks when we had triggers at Albemarle weather station, which is just north of Newcastle.DL1 is my postcode not sure which station applies in that report. With the way the weather has been this winter maybe this year will be the 1st year they dont pay any out.0

theres another 10 weeks of winter left yet0

... I don't believe cold weather payments can be backdated? ... or am I wrong?Any way to find out historical records for a postcode?
Won ESA appeal and nothing in back payments covering winter 12/13.
Thanks
... I recently won an ESA appeal moving me from WRAG into the Support Group and although I received a backdated payment for the IR Enhanced Disability Premium I didn't think the Cold Weather Payments could be backdated? ... from the list looks like there was only one trigger in my area over the time period!0 -
if you get income related ESA then you get the cold weather payment in both the WRAG and support groups anyway so you wouldnt have any owed0

... I was moved from IB with a transitional top up into the WRAG and I never claimed for IR-WRAG-ESA as there was no extra money (and I didn't really understand it) ...if you get income related ESA then you get the cold weather payment in both the WRAG and support groups anyway so you wouldnt have any owed
... nearly a year on, when I won my tribunal and was moved to the Support Group I was allowed to claim the IR top up Enhanced Disability Premium backdated for the previous year ...
... so although I have claimed IR Benefits backdated for the previous year I wasn't actually claiming IR benefits at the time of the cold weather payment ...
... so would the cold weather payment have been included in my backdated payment? ... can I claim it now? ... I'm assuming I was never paid it, and can't claim it now! ... and it would be a further complication ... and having checked the list it looks like there was only 1 trigger in my area, although as I recall last year seemed much colder than that!
... but it'd be interesting to know what the position is! Thanks!0 -
it may have been included, but i doubt it.
i dont see any reason why you shouldnt ask about it now though.
the fact that the IR benefit was backdated dhoulf ,ake you eligable.
give them a call and ask, youve nothing to lose0 -
... I guess it won't hurt to ask! ... I think I need to phone them next week any way about a change in circumstances, so I'll try to remember to add this to my list of things I need to ask about! ... it'd be useful information to know for people in the future at any rate! Thanks!it may have been included, but i doubt it.

There's only been 1 trigger anywhere in Britain so far this winter, that was at Braemar weather station in Aberdeenshire, with a total of 1,100 people entitled to a CWP.rich_shot2003 wrote: »With the way the weather has been this winter maybe this year will be the 1st year they dont pay any out.
Last winter (2012/13) there were 10 payments made in total in the area covered by Braemar, it just shows how mild this winter has been.0
