Thanks to this thread, I've discovered we may be eligible for the £120 rebate.
    But I'm not sure.

on the Eon website (our provider) it states:

    Section 2
Confirmation of benefits (tick all that apply)
Income related employment and support allowance
    Income support
    Income based Job Seekers Allowance

    We are on Income Support.

    Section 3
Confirmation of benefits (tick all that apply)
    Pensioner Premium
Child Tax Credit-including disability or severe disability elements
    Disabled child premium
    Disability or severe disability premium
Child under 5 living in property

This is where I'm not so sure. On our latest IS letter it states:

"Because your partner has reached the minimum age where he can apply for pension credit and you or your partner are sick and disabled."

So is that the "Pensioner Premium" and/or "Disability Premium"?

Or would I be better phoning Eon and checking?

    Thanks for any help.

    Hi MCLF

Just though I'd give you a bit of info about this scheme as far as E.ON are concerned.

Warm Home Discount is a Government led scheme aimed at offering support to vulnerable electricity customers who are likely to be at risk of fuel poverty.

There's two ways to receive the discount.

Firstly, we're working with the DWP to identify customers receiving the guaranteed credit element of pension credit.

These customers (core group) need not apply and will automatically receive the discount. A letter will be sent directly from the DWP advising this.

Secondly, E.ON electricity customers who don't receive the guaranteed credit element of pension credit but who meet certain other criteria may also apply (Broader Group).

To be eligible, the customer or their partner must be receiving one of the benefits in section 1 below; or one of the benefits in section 2 and one from section 3.

    Section 1

    State Pension Credit.
Child Tax Credit (where relevant income is £16,190 or less).

    Section 2

Income related employment and support allowance.
    Income Support.
    Income based Job Seekers Allowance.

    Section 3

    Pensioner Premium.
Child Tax Credit (including disability or severe disability elements).
    Disabled child premium.
    Disability or severe disability premium.
Child under 5 living at property.

At the moment, there's no guarantee customers in the second broader group will receive the discount. We've a limited number to offer and are still working to finalise this part.

There's more info on our website including an application form. It's under Existing Customers and is next to bottom of the left hand menu.

Hope this is of interest. Give me a shout if you need any more info as will be happy to help.

They're changing the weather station-postcode links around a bit this year, adding four stations, and deleting three.
The payment remains unchanged at 25/week.

    http://www.dwp.gov.uk/docs/m-28-11.pdf has a list.

    Hi Malc,
    thanks very much for replying.

I've rung EON and the advice was to apply online. I explained that I wasn't sure if we were eligible, and didn't want to make a false claim, but was told to apply and if we weren't eligible we'd be told.

We don't fall into group one.
We are on Income Support due to disability / illness.

Our IS says "Your partner has reached the minimum age where he can apply for Pension Credit and you or your partner are sick or disabled."

So I filled in part 3 as follows:

    Pensioner Premium.
I'm unsure, he could claim Pension Credit and this is mentioned on the claim. So I ticked this
Child Tax Credit (including disability or severe disability elements). N/A
    Disabled child premium.N/A
Disability or severe disability premium.Yes, I believe we get this for my husband. So I ticked this
Child under 5 living at property.N/A

At the moment, there's no guarantee customers in the second broader group will receive the discount. We've a limited number to offer and are still working to finalise this part.
Thanks - that pushed me to apply for it.

    Hi MCLF

I agree with our advisor. Always best to ask the question and see what happens.

Best of luck with your application. Hope it all works out for you.

Thanks bobajob. My husband's disabled and receives DLA, so I thought it meant that.

(I have a health problem, and one of my symptoms is confusion. I find forms really confusing, and start to doubt myself, so I like to check).

It was two years ago, but nothing has changed since then.

  • Has anyones get £25 CWP yet ? I think no ones get it yet due to mild weather and temperature never fall below zero for 7 days yet. We probably won't get it at all if the mild weather staying in UK for the next 4 months. There is no signs of cold weather or snow yet.
