My husband is retired and had pension credit up til 2 months ago when we crept £2over the thresh hold and lost it along with carers allowance. I am registered disabled and have DLA and Incapacity Benefit.
Now it appears we no longer get cold weather payments? I have my central heating turned off when I am alone in the house to save money. It's so cold here and we have had 2 triggers since Nov
I think disabled people should get CWP anyway but what can you do?:think:0 -

my son moved back home in August, he is on income support and DLA, he pays me £50 a fortnight rent and he got a letter this morning saying he is due a cold weather payment. (I opened it by mistake, we have the same initials) the thing is we pay the heating, he doesn't, do you think i am being unreasonable if i suggest he should give me some of it?
Personally I think he should give you all of it. He is staying in your house paying very low rent (far less than he would pay if he lived elsewhere). This money is for paying the heating bills so it would just be getting used for what it is for. If you would rather you could suggest he gives you half, that would be more than fair.0 -
I am on income support and my son recieves dla at the high rate for care. We have a disability element to the child tax credit payments. But he turned 5 in October so does that mean we wont recieve cwp this winter. Any advice much appreciated.0
