I wonder if this woulda been the result of my haircut with them??
• How did you get your money back from Groupon? All I can find on their website is support@groupon.co.uk but I have emailed me and they haven't responded.

My experience is that Groupon is a scam. They sell vouchers, the businesses don't honour the vouchers then when you email Groupon they ignore them.

I bought a voucher for Woolton Picture House but when I tried to use it the cinema wouldn't honour the voucher. There is no small print with restrictions on the voucher. It clearly states the voucher can be used 7 days a week. It clearly states 'just choose a film, a friend and a date to go'. When I tried to see Harry Potter I was told I couldn't use the voucher to see that film and the voucher expires by the time a new film is on.

It wasn't them that refunded me, groupon did- turns out the salon don't get any money until i hand in my voucher and groupon were appalled at their service and refunded straight away. I spoke to the salon on the phone today, not a swearword muttered and I didn't shout at all :) i was very proud. I told her about what had happened and she said that the owner was there from 9:30 - 10:30 on Monday morning, I asked why then, did i get a message on facebook saying that two hairdressers were there from 9:45 until 10:30, and if anybody was there why didn't they pick up the phone or answer my voicemail? In the end she had to admit she was lying. I said i wanted to speak to the owner about it all- still waiting for a phone call. Still not got an apology but I won't hold my breath.

I had problems with my Glasses Direct voucher :( It finally worked when I used it towards something more expensive, but the idea was that I didn't have to!

• Myself and four friends had also booked the full hot stone body aromatherapy massage, deep cleansing facial, plus manicure and pedicure at Om Shanti weeks ago. We all turned up on the arranged time and day for our package only to be told the manager Romeo hadnt booked us in properly and they had insufficient staff to attend to us! We laughed it off, rebooked for 27th November, left all our contact details, expecting a phone call of apology for their mistake - but heard nothing.

Now the day before we are due to go again, I have been ringing and emailing them to confirm that everything is in place for tomorrow, only to find both unanswered, am really not sure if its still in existance or they just dont want the business.

After looking at different review sites, I'm now really concerned as they have been largely negative, do we take a chance and turn up only to find it either closed or poor service?

Any advice gratefully accepted!

Have tried to contact groupon by phone and email but not reply as yet!

That's a shame, my husband had a totally different experience of Glasses Direct through Groupon. He mucked up putting his order in for buy one get a second pair free or two pairs for whatever price it was (can't remember the offer details), and only one pair of glasses arrived. He contacted GD and despite it being his mistake, they made the second pair up and sent them to him, despite it obviously costing them more to do than making up two identical pairs at the same time.

• To get my refund i just rang them at about 4pm on a Tuesday, I said that the company had broken the terms of the contract and that i'd like a refund. They gave it straight away and apologied. My cousin has just used a voucher for a skydive from groupon and that was fine for her so I don't think its a scam site, I just think you have to carefully check the companies out first. Fingers crossed for everyone having problems- good luck!
