Not Using your indicators?

I disagree. Using indicators out of habit shows a lack of awareness of your surroundings. I drive mostly on unclassified roads and avoid rush hour whenever possible. Thus I very rarely indicate unless there is someone else on the road at the same time as me. It's different when I reach urban areas of course but as it's Aberdeen city/shire it's lawless anyway :D In which case I'm happy to stand out from the crowd by letting other motorists and pedestrians know in advance where I wish to go.
Of course I make mistakes like everyone else but I do try and tailor my driving for my surroundings. The middle of nowhere with no one else around - I probably won't indicate. In traffic and where pedestrians are present - yes.
Perhaps your niece should go on the Aberdeen force's advanced driving course as I know they advocate being aware of your local surroundings and driving accordingly:D
Yes, that was the sort of response.0 -
Hardly moving on the roads to even turn, not alone indicate!!! :T0

I'd probably argue too in built up areas but in the middle of nowhere with good visibility what is the point in using your indicators if there is no one there to benefit. It's not as if the wildlife/escaped livestock would know how to respond so it's not needed. However trying to be constantly aware of my surroundings and reacting accordingly is always a good thing when driving. If ever I stop doing this someone give me a flat cap and take away my licence.0 -

Several people sat behind him for quite a while before realising that the car wasn't going anywhere and pulling out.
The risk is not just inconveniencing other motorists, but also that you might get rear ended by someone who isn't paying attention and so doesn't realise that you are stopped.Philip0 -

I just use a warning triangle.0 -
The other one that annoys me at the moment is a fad for indicating right when going straight on at roundabouts. What planet do they live on? I've seen a couple of pedestrians nearly wiped out by these clowns!
I agree that indicating to go straight ahead at a mini-roundabout is stupid, as it only confuses people and serves to aid nobody!0 -

This has been done to death before. IIRC the consensus was that you should signal left when leaving a roundabout... if it will benefit another road user. Like somebody waiting or about to enter the roundabout, for example.0 -
I saw someone doing practically that not long ago. Someone in a Mercedes, they weren't parked at an angle like the above picture but they did park straddling TWO disabled spaces.
I have seen someone park exactly like the picture above but not in disabled spaces. I felt like parking next to the arrogant c*nt in the same way a couple of inches from his car.0 -
I never indicate it saves electricity so keeps the yogurt weavers happy:p0

^^ Just like not using headlights when its dark or foggy, not using your indicators decreases fuel consumption and helps to combat global warming!!
Where's the "roll eye's" smiley when you need it?“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”
