You'll get through it, with the help of people on here. It's just a very bizarre and awful situation. I'd be tempted to do the same with an appeal just to show the rest of them they couldn't walk all over me.

After your meeting tomorrow would be a good time to get back to the gym, it will give you thinking time to put the outcome of your meeting into perspective. Drifting off while on the treadmill always seems to work much better than sitting in front of the tv, and it will make you feel better about yourself for the rest of the day.

My exercising hasn't been having the desired results with weight recently, so it's all systems go for a restricted calorie controlled diet after the bank holiday weekend (let's face it, there is zero point starting it on a bank holiday weekend that will mainly be spent in pubs).

RE: Olympics. It seems very expensive and all concentrated in the south with the exception of a few football matches. Getting any kind of accommodation down there will be a nightmare. Tv-land will be my stadium (a little olympics party might be called for when the decent events are on).

Hmmm, you're right about the accomodation for the Olympics. Haven't thought this through properly! Mind you, I love sport and always have and would regret it if I didn't at least try and get there. I'm sure the way my luck is going I won't be successful in the ballot anyway!

I'm wasting this week off just slobbing round the house. Really need to do something - and I'm starting to go a bit stir crazy as well! Wish I had a gym buddy because I've lost the self motivation. Need a kick now and again. Feel free to give me a virtual one until I'm back on track.

If going to the gym is too boring and not motivating enough to go why not join a group? You'll work harder while you are there and it'll motivate you to go as you will do that all important thing of meeting new people. Working out in a stuffy gym where no one talks to you is DULL! Find something outside. Kayaking, canoeing, cycling, running, walking, boot camp, football, rugby, whatever you fancy just in a group not solo. It's great getting outside and meeting new people at the same time, intimidating the first couple of times you go but really great after that.

You are going through a tough time, but i really believe good positive things happen to people who believe in themselves and act positively to make their lives fuller. You can change your outlook on life by taking charge of your life outside of work and exercising is the first stage in making you feel better about that, as you won't feel you've wasted a day not doing anything.

    Thanks iwah :)

Well my meeting didn't go as well as I'd hoped, although to be honest, it went pretty much as predicted. Management haven't really thought about what job they can offer me (that's reasonable to me anyway...a post 3 hours away doesn't fill me with joy!) but they are insisting they will give me something. I've been told they will get back to me towards the end of next week. Not good for my stress levels, but at the moment all I can do is take what is being said at face value.

I still intend to appeal the decision, but even if I win, I won't be offered that job back. So I've got to let go. I think there's a principle at stake (hence the appeal), but they're not going to reverse the decision again - especially as they've already offered "my job" to someone else.

    What a farce.

Went to the gym yesterday and enjoyed it but definitely need to look at joining a group of some sort. I've been saying that for ages and have been using plenty of excuses not to do it (I'm moving etc) but I think I need something to keep busy. As usual, it just a matter of spending some time looking into stuff and then just bloody doing it.

I've been feeling a bit down this week and was feeling sorry for myself after Thursday, which made me think of the ex, which made me feel worse! Its a vicious circle. I'm also worried about going back to work on Tuesday, I just can't get motivated with everything going on and don't feel refreshed at all despite having a week off.

Moan, groan, woe is me! Ignore this! Bad day. The good news is, I've been paid, so I can hopefully get that CC paid off! Just need to work it all out.

    Hi Copperjar

Sorry to hear about your ongoing hassles with work. Haven't been on the forum in ages so only just caught up with what's been going on. Can't believe they've done what they've done. Good for you on appealing the decision.

Well done on the stopping smoking - even more so as you are clearly in a situation of stress and you have stuck to it. And seen how much inroad you have made into your debt. If nothing else, look at what great things you have already achieved. I'm going to try and get back on track with the forum as it definitely did help with motivating me to stop spending.

Just wanted to drop in and say hello.

    Good luck with the appeal.

    Liz

Oh copperjar, you poor thing.... have a hug

The whole situation is just too carp to be true. A job offer is made, then rescinded (sp) then they don't seem to know how to handle it or where to go from here. Bizarre, to say the least.
Have I missed it, what happened to your friend and colleague who was going to go into the "makeamillion.co.uk" venture with you? Can that plan be put into action now?

Whilst not running down 4 day BH weekends at all, I do find that they encourage any negative thoughts or moods that I have if I don't keep busy. My own personal dilemma this weekend, besides my diary on here, was beating myself up over my ex - and telling myself that he was only in it for material gain and I have been taken for a fool - for years. But.... that aint going to change anything and it certainly doesn't make me feel any better so I am going to have to snap out of it. Exes.... urgh!!! :( Onwards and upwards, copperjar.

The sun is out - enjoy the day and plan the future....

    Hugs

Hi Liz, nice to see you again and thanks for your comments
And of course to you as well SA, great to have you back.

I've been a bit grouchy today. Why do we punish ourselves even more when things are going a bit wrong? The ex had been totally pushed out of my thoughts for 2 months and now she's right back there at the front of my mind. And I'm annoyed with myself for letting it happen! I guess sometimes we all need someone to look after us and tell us it'll all be okay - the only person who wants to do that now is inappropriate work man with a crush :o *sigh*

Anyway, I've just paid the £420 owing on my Santander CC which means that I'm now CREDIT CARD DEBT FREE! :j I really can't believe it. I made it, all CCs paid off before June :D Thanks to you all for your encouragement and support.

Still need to work out my own budget for the month, but the payment has been made and I'll just have to have a tight month. Hooray!!!
