    Welcome back!

The job situation sounds awful! You must be gutted and incensed. I can't believe the complaints have been listened to and acted on? How can that happen? And if the job is reinstated, how does that leave you with your colleagues?

I am not surprised you haven't felt very motivated lately, with that hanging over you and not knowing whether or not you are going to be moving.

But well done on the ex situation and well dome for coming back on here. Don't go AWOL again!

    Thanks Wordsmith :)

Yeah I've been pretty much seething about the job situation. Its just crazy and I can't believe the union have done this. By all accounts they feel pretty rubbish about it now themselves, but still. What makes it even more unfair is that the other person who got a promotion is being allowed to keep their job!! It looks like I was used as a compromise between management and the union.

I can't see how I won't win my appeal but even if I do, I don't think I'll be offered the job back. I might get something else or a better redundancy payout, but not the job. So the move is off .

Anyway, don't get me started again (I'm still pretty angry if you hadn't noticed!).

I'm also paranoid! Not sure if I should be writing all this on here!

    Hi Copperjar,

I can't believe the job situation, that is awful. Hope you win the appeal and get to keep the job, or are compensated financially in some way.

Oh and welcome back. Everyone slips up now and then, what's important is that you are getting back to it, and also that when you checked your account it didn't look too bad. Hitting the gym tomorrow may help you work off some of that anger, and as you'll naturally drink more water while there it'll calm the stress eating down as you'll fill up with water instead.

Well done on getting closer to being over the ex.

It must have been a hard few weeks, its amazing you haven't cracked and smoked a cigarette, that in itself is an achievement.

As wordsmith said don't go AWOL again. We are here to help, if we can.

    Wow!!!!!!!

copperjar - welcome home, if you know what I mean.
I cannot believe what has been going on - what a b*mmer, I thought it was only me that stuff like that happened to. You poor thing - I admit I have never been a member of a trade union and my only experiences of them in the workplace were not good and certainly never positive (my opinion)
Back to you, a bit of discipline and structure, methinks, for you. You were so sorted before all this and perhaps, just perhaps it was meant to be. Perhaps you are destined to be head of copperjar.co.uk. :)
Back on the exercise plan - the adrenaline rush will do you good in lots of ways and back on the spending diet too and of course back on the MSE pages. I had been wondering where you are and how you were getting on... Now we know and we are here to support you with a few virtual hugs. Well done on the ex thing - I had a minor wobble over the weekend but focussed my energy on a two page written missile to MrA's customer service team.... heyho!
    Hugs

Thank you all for the welcome back! Aww, it gave me a real boost reading your comments and knowing that you're there for support.
I'm on AL this week, although have to go into work tomorrow for a meeting with senior management about "the issue", but I'm going to use this time to get back on track.

I want to get back into the healthy eating and exercise thing. I've put a few pounds back on (all that I'd bloody lost..grr) and I'm wondering about whether to calorie count again or do the red/green day thing. Any tips? Summer is coming and I'd like to be able to squeeze into some of my weather appropriate clothes! :p I also want to get back into the 3 x week at the gym. I went to watch my brother run the London marathon a couple of weeks ago and felt so inspired to get fit...only to return home and do nothing about it!

Job wise - got to go through with the appeal unless I'm offered something good tomorrow (still feel like I need to appeal just to make a point though). I've also been wondering about whether I could have a complete career change. But I just don't know what. And the whole "get a life" thing really needs looking at. So all in all, I'm back at square one :rotfl:

    Only joking!!

Right then. Off to do something constructive. Thanks again for the welcome back :)

This could all be a blessing in disguise. (Don't you just hate it when life is poo and someone says that?) Maybe it will give you the impetus to have a complete change and do something you really enjoy. Hope the meeting goes well tomorrow - try not to stress about it too much in the meantime.
