    copperjar,
I am not going to comment on how you feel the interview went. I just want to say that I have enormous sympathy for you. I was in that very same place this time last year and I feel for you.
Try not to stress about stress. I remember something my ex husband told me - he was temping while waiting for a new job to start and had been sent to a dept in a local NHS site. He said that all the permanent staff did most of the time was to sit there complaining about how much they had to do and how stressed they were and then ended up going off sick! Self fulfilling prophecies or what? Rather than just getting on with the work they had made it their "job" to stress.
You can't change how it went or what the decision will be but please don't get so het up that it affects the rest of your day to day life. When is your Business Enterprise thing in Scarboro' ?
You are sassy, intelligent and have so much to offer whether it be working for yourself or for someone else. Whatever way it pans out I know that it work for you. You see.
    Hugs

Hey copperjar, sorry I haven't caught up for a while.

Sorry to hear about the interview, but maybe it wasn't as bad as you think.

To help you destress, just do something you enjoy. The gym will be helping a lot, but simple things like a walk, a bath, a good dvd or book will help too. Be nice to yourself!

Hi everyone. Thanks for the comments. Well, I didn't get the job but was told I'd done really well, which I was surprised at considering how badly I genuinely thought it went. Anyway, an hour or so later, I was phoned back and told that I had come top of the reserves and there were now two possible positions. They are both a LONG way from home, it'd probably mean moving at some point - although maybe that's just the completely new start I need.

Arghh, I just don't know what to do.

And I was so convinced that I'd done badly, I think I might have told every man and his dog how rubbish I was which makes me feel like bit of a fraud!

    Dear Fraud. Well done.

You don't need to make any decisions yet - wait for all the details so you can make an informed choice. And yes, it could be a whole new start. Exciting, or what! Or you may decide to leave anyway. Exciting, or what!

For now, though, just bask in the credit and recognition you've been given. You can start stressing again in a day or so - ask us if it is OK before you do though.:D

Enjoy your calm and relaxing evening thinking of anything other than what you have to do next.

PS Dogs don't care what you tell them.

    Love it wordsmith.

Congrats on the reserves! That is really good. No matter what you decide, that is amazing considering how badly you "thought" it had gone. The professionalism must have been noticed, that you took it seriously.

Take your time when deciding if the change will be a good thing (getting away from current stresses, a bit of a relax time not having to job hunt, getting away from the ex). Or if its all too much change too quick, you have had a lot of change recently. Is that good or bad? who knows?

Only you can know what is best for you, and whatever you decide will definitely have pros and cons, but don't rush this as it has to be right.

Think i'll send a bit of dancy party faces to you to celebrate too.

    Well here's the update!

I have accepted the job
I didn't really have the luxury of taking my time because the restructure is ploughing ahead at full steam, and having spoken to my friends and family, it was a no brainer really. I need a job. There's not many of them about. This is a promotion. I feel terrible for the many people who haven't got a post in this part of the process, there's lots of hurt, angry, upset people around today which just highlighted to me how lucky I am. I have to grab the opportunity with both hands.

Obviously I'm not as calm as I sound! I'm worried sick about my best friend (and would be business partner) who didn't get a post and is distraught. I feel like I've somehow stabbed her in the back, even though we both went for the posts. We haven't discussed the business or our plans for the training next week. To be honest, we haven't really done that much about the business anyway, but it was always there as an option (and an option that *I* was going on about constantly while she was more cautious) and I just feel like I've dropped her from a great height when she'd been reassuring me that we would follow up the business idea.

I'm also worried about the actual job I've accepted (but putting that out of my mind for now!) and worried about my colleagues who haven't got anything. And there's the whole I-need-to-sell-my-house-and-move issue, which again I'm trying to ignore, but the commute would just be too far.

On the positive side - I got a job! I'm starting a new chapter in my life. I'll be moving to a new area and can put some of the stresses and upset of the past 6 months behind me. It will give me an opportunity to move to a slightly more lively town and start living a bit again. Its scary but I'm sure its the right decision.

Crikey - what a 6 months its been!!
