  • Hi copperjar,

Good to see that you have been keeping up with the gym and seeing the results, well done you.
As for the PT - this is MY opinion but when I used to go to the gym everyday (courtesy of my lovely ex-employers) there was always a PT or two there coaching people and I was not impressed. I will tell you why....
If you need a PT it is because you lack motivation and imagination. You just want someone to kick your a**e. It is expensive and I think you can easily work out routines for yourself or even ask the gym staff for some ideas, which is what I used to do. I just think that it is a waste of money, but that really is my thoughts, take no notice if you don't agree... :o
Perhaps thinking more about the ex is a sign that you are in a real period of change in your life now?
So many things in your life are changing at the same time. It will come good, I am sure, but I totally agree with you that things are never going to be the same again with regards to work and opportunties in this country. Very good schemes are being axed immediately before other ways of saving money are even investigated. It is a bit late now for Cameron to say that he is going to reprimand councils who axe services before cutting pen pushers at the top of the ladder - the services have been shut down already in many cases.
Off to Scarborough - I hope it isn't too cold and you can have a look around without perishing in the wind .
I really hope it all works out well for you, in fact I am sure it will.. ;)
    Hugs

The comic relief dance thing is keeping me entertained right now. Although I doubt anyone will be able to top robert webb's flashdance. I have never laughed so much at tv as when that was on.

:D As much as it pains me to admit, I thought Katie Price was really funny last night! Glad she got through!

Thanks for your post SA. I think you're both being very sensible about the PT sessions and I'll probably cancel, although I did think they worked pretty well last time and the sessions might get me motivated to start using my weights at home. But I guess I can do that without spending £100

We all find change hard I think, but when it all comes at once it can get a bit overwhelming. My book about goals and confidence etc is pretty good; when I feel myself getting anxious or panicky, I need to challenge the thoughts that are making me feel that way. Its just there's so many of them at the moment, its hard to keep up! :rotfl:

Todays plans: supermarket, clean house, washing, interview prep, something nice so its not all chores and no pleasure!

Hi CopperJar just had a wee flick through your diary after SA mentioned we are all in the same club :). Something you wrote yesterday 'Isn't it funny how these things just hit us? I was doing so well and then: BAM! Knocked me for 6. I really hope that's it now, its been long enough and I'm actually doing a lot better without her, damn you stupid heart not keeping up with the brain!' really struck with me and I know EXACTLY how you feel. I can now go for days feeling fine, think I'm getting there then BAM back into total heartbreak mode again, there doesnt even seem to be anything in particular setting it off either. I'm alrightish just now, making myself get on with things and when I start to think about him I try to give myself ,say 10 minutes then, tell myself thats enough for now. Sometimes works, sometimes doesnt but usually helps prevent an evening of sobbing away.

Oh gosh, I'm a right mood lifter aint I?

Good luck with the gym, getting fit is something I still cant seem to get round to x
  • This is why diaries are so good, the others all rallied around me when I had a hard time last week and felt distraught (not exaggerating) and I got through it.
Each and every time we think about the ex will hopefully become a little less painful until it becomes a memory and not an ordeal.
When you next find yourself dwelling on your ex, in your minds eye put a photo of him/her into a frame and watch that frame get smaller and smaller until it is a speck you can't see anymore. You can also make it change from colour to sepia to black and white. Just fading away. It is one of Paul McKenna's tips and it works for me.
copperjar - good luck this week. thinking of you.

  • Hi LittleBoots  thanks for your comments and of course you too SA. To be honest, I'm boring myself with thoughts of the ex now, but its like I'm taunting myself sometimes. I catch myself having not thought about her for a while and so deliberately do
Every single morning - its driving me mad. I think the general feeling of anxiety I have right now with the work situation is also reminding me of her. Obviously feeling terrible, unsettled, stressed and upset is now forever associated with her!!!

Need to get the rough draft of my presentation done tonight because I'm putting it onto Power Point tomorrow. Also have a tonne of information to read, but I'm getting a bit overloaded with it. Kind of wish I'd chosen an early interview slot (ie tomorrow!) - just want it over and done with now. The worst part is that once that's over, I've got another 2 at the end of March :wall:

  • Just a quick hello, to say I hope the presentation is going well.

If you are putting it off stop!

If it is well under way :j:j

If you are stuck, switch everything off that you are using as distraction.

Just write everything you want to say and then spend the next couple of days fiddling around with the swipe in swoosh out. Remember bulletpoints are your friend. No huge paragraphs to make people read a lot they make me switch off straight away.

Hope you enjoyed the gym. :A

  • Hey guys :) All is well. Just another few days and it'll all be over. I've been on some training today which will hopefully help with the interview, I've read a few policies and whatnot and think its all starting to sink in and I've done my presentation. Its on powerpoint anyway, but I haven't finalised the script yet. Its very tight timewise, we've only got 5 mins to do the presentation so I think I need to cut a few bits and bobs out and make it a bit more concise.

Sorting interview clothes has been a nightmare, got another outfit winging its way to me on Saturday - if this doesn't fit (and I've ordered two sizes of everything!) then there's no hope and I'll just have to squeeze myself into an old outfit that's a wee bit small! I've discovered that I really must enjoy stressing and panicking because I do it often enough!!

  • Morning copperjar,

Remind me - When is the interview so that I can be thinking of you with all fingers crossed. You sound pretty positive despite the stressing and a bit of stress is good for getting the adrenaline flowing. Make sure whatever you wear is comfy - too small and it will feel like you are being constricted. I really wish you all the luck in the world.
