Thanks once again you two :)

I guess I need to keep as many options open as possible, so like you say SA, that means preferencing for all the in-house posts I can while keeping an eye out for any external ones and keeping the business idea ticking over as well. I definitely have a habit of winding myself up and talking myself out of things, so I'm going to stop going on (and on and on... :o ).

Weigh in this morning and I've not lost anything this week :( Very frustrating and resulted in a Burger King for lunch and a curry followed by sweets for tea. Oops. I do seem to be losing inches though - got into some work clothes that haven't fitted for a while - just strange that the lbs aren't coming off as well.

Money wise, doing okay with my weekly spends, not so good with the food budget though. I think I need to get some new trainers and definitely need an interview outfit (or three!) so I guess they will count as my treat this month.

Its going to be a long 7 weeks.....

  • Don't stress out too much with the weight thing. It shouldn't be about weight really (says she who is now addicted to the scales, I knew there was a reason the batteries had been drained and not replaced). But should be more about the way you feel, how fit and healthy you are and the size of clothes you are in. Ooh and I like to repeat to myself "muscle weighs more than fat", which if you could see my lack of muscle makes that funny.

Maybe the interview clothes could be your feb treat? I know a work treat isn't really a treat, but the treat part will be not having to buy bigger sizes and also in just having something new and some new confidence when applying for the jobs.

After watching the biggest loser tonight I am inspired to get back out again running tomorrow. Please kick my backside on this as i'm putting it off all of the time and finding ANYTHING i can to use as an excuse. If only I could afford a personal trainer to drag me out in the rain and howling winds, and tell me "you are not tired from work, stop making excuses".

Oh and everyone needs a dirty food day once in a while. You can't be good and happy all of the time, so don't feel guilty about it.

  • Thanks IWAH :) I'll be your [STRIKE]nag[/STRIKE] personal trainer if you'll be my life coach! :p
I'm definitely going to the gym tomorrow, have kind of missed it the past few days (I'm saying that quietly) - so you can get yourself out for a run! No excuses!

I agree - it is not how much you weigh but how you feel. I think being able to fit into clothes comfortably is much more important than what the scales tell you. A healthy lifestyle, eating sensibly, exercising, sleep will all pay rewards in the end. Who wants to lose tons of weight quickly only to put it all on (and more) afterwards? You are in a time of change at the moment and that is going to reflect on your emotions and eating habits. As soon as things start falling into place, one way or the other, you will feel much more settled, I am sure.
    Good luck

    Erm...I didn't go :embarasse
First time in 3 weeks I've skipped it...bloody typical!!

Went to the Business Link training session today, just as loads of local councils have started announcing their cuts. It gives me hope that even if I don't get a job in the restructure, I still have other opportunities available. Scary times though, 50% of the people on the course had been made redundant recently.

You're both right re the weight thing, so I'm going to hide the scales until March and just eat healthily and continue the gym without putting too much emphasis on how much I've (not) lost. I don't need any added pressures at the moment...at times I honestly feel like I'm going insane!

  • Shame on both of us. :rotfl:

Its good that you are making plans. I bet there are a lot of people in your position at your workplace and a heck of a lot more workplaces that aren't making any effort to create a backup plan within good time. Of course there will be those who are too.

Well the lighter nights are moving in. It was still light at 5 o clock tonight, so being less of a hermit is getting closer, the running must start full on now. It is a lot easier and less of a chore when it is still light after 6.

I should just post a picture of myself and give the warning that if you don't go you will end up looking like me. You don't want that, trust me. So, go, woman, go!

I'd love to be a good example - instead, I am a horrible warning.
