Wow, its been a month since I posted. Not good.
Not a whole lot of stuff has happened. New job starts on Monday, starting to get a bit nervous now because its really is a big change in direction and I'm not entirely sure what the job is.... :rotfl:

I've been a bit lax with money in June so really need to sort myself out tomorrow when I get paid. Went to Wimbledon last week and spent a bit too much - but it was great to get away for a few days and I figured I deserved a treat! Have also had a bit of a splurge on clothes and a couple of other treats, so I need to calm down on that side a bit!

Have decided to join slimmers world within the next couple of weeks. Need something to keep me focussed on the heathy eating thing. I usually try hard for a couple of weeks then give in :o so hopefully the pressure of weigh in will keep me on the straight and narrow!

Hope everyone else is doing well. Off to read some diaries to catch up.

Welcome back! I wondered where you were and presumed that the new job had started and that you were too busy to post.
You sound OK and pretty positive despite all the upheaval of the last few months. As you have probably read on my diary, my employment situation has been full of highs and lows and I am hoping it will sort itself out in the next few weeks. It is so depressing and unsettling, we spend such a huge part of our lives at work that it is only right that find something that is mutually enjoyable and of course pays the bills!

    Keep posting, don't diappear again.

    Hugs

Thanks guys. Starting to get nervous about new job now. Bought a couple of new work outfits today. Not sure whether I'm supposed to be ultra smart office type or smart casual. So have plumped for smart casual and will dress up or down as neccesary! Its never easy starting a new job - all those little things I forget about until the time comes. Latest panic - what is the etiquette re milk?! And where will I eat my pack up? :o (yes, always the food and drink sitaution that gets me worrying!).

wow! Long time no type eh!

glad you back and starting the new job. You'll be fine, although no doubt will needlessly fret over the tiny things. I presume you'll eat lunch in the canteen with everyone else unless you are thrown into the carpark for being too underdressed and forced to eat in your car :rotfl::rotfl:

Hows the gym etc been going?

    Good luck with slimmers world.

Which games did you see at wimbledon? saw a few on tv, including the two finals. Great matches. Although I haven't been watching many games as the women's world cup in has been on my screen instead. Hopefully england will actually get something in this for once.

Anyway, good luck in the new job, you'll be fine, just excrete confidence from every pore all day long.

    Thanks guys :)

Well, first two days done and dusted. I'm exhausted! Wasn't too underdressed luckily (partly because of the weather...everyone has been accidenly flashing me today with their summer low cut tops!) and found the fridge and kettle within the first 5 minutes of arriving. So all is well. The travelling is a nightmare and taking forever - I'm based in the central office for the first 3 months which takes 1hr 15 mins to get to! But the main road is closed so its been taking me an hour and half - both ways. 3 hours added to my day. And I'm not the best on a morning anyway!

As with most things, I don't really know what I'm doing. My induction consisted of being taken round the building, saying hi to a few people and being shown the kitchen (what vibes am I giving off?!). I think I'm going to be pretty much left just to get on with things so I've started making some appointments and I guess I'll just make things up as I go along and hope I don't make too many rash decisions!

Slimmers world is off :( My friend won't go...suppose I could go on my own but then I found the books from when I went a few years ago so might as well use them and save myself some cash (MSE :money:). I've given myself a target though and if I don't lose a reasonable amount in the first month, I'll go to the club myself.

Wimbledon was great thanks. Didn't get on the main 2 courts so didn't see the top top players, but managed to see some pretty good matches. Lisicki, Ivanovic, Meltzer were probably the best known. Really pleased with the 2 winners though - I actually picked Kvitova at the start!

How's things with you all? IWAH - how's the training coming along? When's the GNR? I haven't been to the gym for a couple of weeks. Not sure how I'll make it with all this travelling for the next couple of months (excuses excuses!).

Ooh and its my leaving do on Friday so I'm looking forward to a few drinkies and inebriated I miss and love yous! ;)

I'm glad all went well at work. Sounds a bit scary having to make things up as you go along, but in some ways that could be the best way forward.

I really have to get to grips with this slimming thing as well. I am moving in the right direction though - I gave myself a right telling off this morning for having a slice of chocolate biscuit cake. In about three years I may actually get as far as not having the cake in the first place. My work is too all over the place to commit to something like Weight Watchers or Slimmers World. I've always thought they aren't necessary since it is easy enough to eat properly without going to a class, but I am gradually coming round to the thought that it is easy enough to know what to do but maybe some @rse-kicking is needed to actually do it.

Yeah that was my thought as well. When I went a few years ago, I did really well (until I put it all back on again. So maybe not that well afterall!), but it does keep you on the straight and narrow. Don't want to feel a failure at weigh in! I think if I've seen no big improvement within the month, I'll have to join. I'm also considering a zumba class!

First week almost done and dusted. I'm working from home tomorrow (yay!) so at least it doesn't mean a 6.15am wake up call. I'm bloody exhausted!
