I've been very busy today but it doesnt look like I've done much - no visible sings of cleaning as such but ...
But you've laid foundations :j erm, metaphorically :rotfl:
I've sorted through all the paperwork & files. I filled another bag of paper to be recycled & have even more stuff to be burnt. I have reduced the size of each file by about half by chucking out old bills, insurance docs etc. & reduced the number of files I keep by clever collating.
I love doing that, the sense of achievement (and space) is wonderful :j
I discovered many more old cables & disks & am now wondering what on earth to do with them & the old cable modem as I really dont think they should go in the bin.
Your local tip should have an electrical recycling portion.
I also completed the laundry & all the ironing has been done & everything put away - almost unheard of for a saturday.
I've not done any exercise other than running down to the garden to empty the compost pot. I briefly considered raking up the leaves but then the sun went in so I followed close behind.
I love that, Lula
No sign of snow here but it's been very cold so the heating has been on most of the day. Even wearing 3 layers of clothes I cant bear not to have it on. I just dont do cold homes - they're the one place that should be warm & cosy so its lucky that this place is small enough for me to afford to heat it while we're home.
omigod, yes. Yes yes yes.
Tomorrow will be all about doing the cleaning & I reckon I'll give the weights a try too.
Trying to watch Sweeney todd but think I've just discovered the first Johnny Depp film I dont like. Cant be doing with all the neck slashing while singing bad tunes :rotfl: so I'm off to bed with my book instead.
G'night
I'm doing lots of shredding here - I used to write pages and pages of incredibly personal stuff, and in the move, I realised just how much I'd kept - I keep thinking, if I died tomorrow, would I want people to read this? I don't want to read it, and I don't want *them* to read it :rotfl: and I don't want to store it either - so off it goes!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Morning lady, happy cleaning. X I'm working today but the snow is heavy so think we may well be quiet.'The road to a friends house is never long'0

Morning all -
Humph - we dont have snow & we're all ready for it so a bit miffed.
I'm ashamedly still in bed. Got up at 8 to make coffee & toast & then had to finish my book. It's all about the chores today ( hence the languishing & avoidance tactics) & I might just start off in the garden & play with the leaves. I also need to take pics of my fabulous wardrobe/greenhouse creation for Pippi . It's a good excuse to throw on trackie pants & my lovely wellies. Still havent bought a digital camera, but could use my phone if some kindly passerby coud instruct on clever bit of getting pics from phone to thread ??? I know it involves the usb cable but not much beyond that.
Karma - the local tip does have an electrical reycling bit, the problem is that it's been closed for refurbishment since about June - hence the build up of household debris that cant just go in the bin.
I'm getting up now before lethargy sets in & hoovering & cleaning the bathroom loses its appeal.
Will return later with glorious tales of heroic battles against dust & cat fluff - it seems improbable but I'm sure his coat has doubled its thickness in the last year.
Hope you have a good day at work Souk

Cat's do have winter coats, so it's probably just that, the problem is when the warm weather returns and they lose it!!!0

I thought so & he was such a scraggy little thing when we got him, I seem to remember the cat home manager saying that he would have a beautiful coat when fully fattened up & healthy again. I guess, that means we've got a happy healthy fat cat then.
Just popping in briefly to say I spent 2 happy hours playing with the leaves in the garden. I now have 4 black bags full which will one day become leaf mould & I've now laid out the base of the veg garden using some frames I retrieved from the skip at work. DD came out briefly to help with the raking, but this mainly involved lying on the piles of leaves & remarking how cosy they were & wouldnt a pet hedgehog be lovely etc etc etc so I sent her in again to sort out her room. NB I still havent built the wardrobe as she still hasnt learnt to use a bin & i counted 7 separate bags with about 3 items in .
The petunias in the pot by the front door perished over night but the cheery winter jasmine has now started to bloom. I MUST get some pansies to replace petunias, but the foot long trailing lobelia is still alive !
Rock cakes have just come out of the oven & as the poatoes seem to be sprouting, I think we'll be having a cheesy corn bake for supper tonight. Enought procrastinating, the hoovering & bathroom cleaning now beckon.
Oh the joys of being single on a sunday :rotfl:.0 -
You look so glam, Lula, and you're actually a Domestic Goddess as well! Two hours outside in this weather, I take my hat off to you. What kind of frames are they? And what are you planning to plant? I put a whole list of my stuff on Pippi's new thread last night .....2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Hey Lula
I'm back and I've caught up, it took me a while to work out that you had a new diary and that I needed to find it!!
Loving the name and the progress you've made!
Also thansk for the namecheck on the first page but sadly I can't crochet but would love to make one of those colourful blankets.
However I can sew and knit and I can do needlework stuff so I'm pretty keen on crafty bit and bobs.
Indeed I've spent quite a bit on crafty bits and bobs from Hobbycraft and intend to make my own decorations including crackers and a wreath for my front door.
Although I should really work out more important stuff for Xmas like my present list and a food shopping list / meal plan before I start on the fun stuff!!!!
Anyway I need to go to bed to recover from my hangover, spent last night at the Rocky Horror show all dressed up in fancy dress and had such a fab night but drank way too much white wine.......I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills
And feed my interiors addiction0 -
Nice to 'see' you makeup. And Lula well done on venturing into your garden! X'The road to a friends house is never long'0

Hi guys & welcome back to makeup :j I've been wondering how you are & I hope the holibob was great. Aah, it's knitting not crochet, I knew you were dam good at something like that
.
Love love love the Rocky Horror Show, havent been to a show for years but your post has now finalised my umming & aahing about whether to buy the theatre membership. DD wants to go see Hairspray ( & me) & I got the ok from my sis about Footloose
It's taken me all day but I have now completed most of my tasks.
KC - the raking up is such vigorous work that I ended up removing both my scarf & the 4th layer of clothing. The papers I need to burn are more of the potential identity theft variety rather than teenage angst. I spend so much time on here I dont have time to write personal stuff anymore, which is probably for the best.
I hoovered everywhere & the bathroom is sparkling. I didnt get around to washing the floors or calling familybut will probably go visit next weekend instead. I'm not happy to go out & about while the home is in such a state, but feel more sorted & energised now it's decluttered.
Finally braved the superscupt workout with weights & although the weights felt fine, some of the exercises I just cannot do - anything abdominal just slays me so I think I'll up the yoga tummy exercises & not worry too much about having a six pack :rotfl:
Every last shred of paperwork is organised now & I've done my sums - bought some nice warm tops for DD off ebay so must remember to pay the saved up cash fund into the bank tomorrow to cover the paypal payment.
I've not got as far as dealing with this months wages & what I need to pay but must remember that I wont get December's until friday 31st & will also lose 2 weeks of home-job pay so very careful budgeting is required.
CB has appeared in the bank so I've made a payment of £100 to Virgin
bringing the balance to a nice tidy £3700.
Half an hour until the bedtime deadline so off I go, having just remembred that there's an all staff meeting tomorrow morning
night night
