DD is fine - she's a tough little cookie & not one for making a fuss. She's already asked if she can cut up the holey trousers to make a school uniform for her posh teddy so very well trained in the art of resourcefulness ;),

I had ruined my NSD by 8.30 by stopping off at the shop to buy bread on the way to work rather than after. So, another £1.35 :eek
: on to the grocery bill which now totals. ..

Had quite a boring day at work - not much on as there's a downtime week in the midst of the current project & Grumpy, Gropey & Goblin were all out. Goblin is fine again this week but I think I'm on Gropey's hit list - he's hardly spoken to me for days & gave me a death glare while I was talking to Highly Annoying about stuff. He knows I use this site so maybe he has stumbled across my diaries & recognised himself :rotfl:

Came home to a lot of home-job work so will have a bit of pocket money this week & I intend to go shopping on friday too :p. not for myself though, I need to get started on stocking type presents as I only have 2 items in my stash :o.

I didnt finish home-job until 9.30 but forced myself to do the superfit workout & then sank into the bath with a book for an hour.

When I came into my room the cat was already curled up on the blanket at the foot of my bed so I guess I'm late again.

It's now a week since I had any booze & I have a new love obsession; this gorgeous bit of techie kit that enables me to post from the warmth & comfort of my bed whereas I used to be all huddled up in a fleecy throw in the living room.

Last day at work job for the week tomorrow - didnt do too well on that 'working an extra day' did I  sometimes sanity is more important.

Lots to do tomorrow & as I keep nagging DD to tidy her room, she pointed out that perhaps I might like to do something about the piles of paperwork, files & obsolete computer equipment that are littering the floor :o

    G'night
    xx

Sounds like a plan Stan :D

Having dreaded going in to work today, it turned out to be fine & rather interesting. Gropey still being a drama queen & alienating everyone but his efforts to make me look bad backfired when I reminded him that I'd been waiting for his input on something for nearly 2 weeks.

He really is like an attention-seeking toddler pushing the tantrum boundaries & everyone else seems to just ignore it & try to avoid any confrontation. I've just realised that as the only mother there I'm possibly the one in the best postition to challenge his bad behaviour & set him straight :rotfl:

He seemed to lighten up a bit after a couple of clients introduced by first name only arrived bearing gifts of cookies & booze, I tried to decline a shot of whisky half an hour before getting in my car but had to take a couple of sips to be polite before sliding it to Goblin on my way out.

Grumpy was on fine form today & sent me a brilliant alternative version of the princess & frog fairytale. Very funny :rotfl:

On the finance front, things are looking ok.

I topped up all the cash funds today :

DDs school trip = £ 70 ( have to pay £50 tomorrow so then £20)
    Presents = £100
    Clubs = £ 50
    Treats/outings = £ 40
    Clothes = £ 30

Have also started a laptop fund for DD in my old Lloyds account, mainly because it already had £20 in it & any Quidco drips in will help & I aim to put £10 a week into it.

    Laptop fund = £30.

I've not done any exercise today but will be doing a workout tomorrow & I've found a set of weights for £6.99 which are from the same shop as a present that DD1 would like so I'll pick them both up tomorrow.

I now have £20 pocket money so will be using that to pay for the weights ... gone are the days of wine, cds, clothes, bags & other fabby stuff pocket money sprees :(.

Cant remember if I mentioned/confessed to it but I bought a coat from ebay at the weekend. It had a BIN price of £18 but I offered £14 which was accepted & had £3 in my paypal account so after delivery I ended up only paying £15 for a lovely long camel coloured per una coat that will certainly do for smarter wear this winter. I probably shouldnt admit to now having a bid on a fab pink coat too :o but I'm generally an honest person so feel obliged, dammit :D.

The living room is a tip - files & paperwork everywhere & all the charity shop stuff too. I have a lot to accomplish in the 8 hours DD is out. Will post my list in a bit then Souk can nag me throughout the day.

I've received my share of co operative points which amounts to £ 11.50 so I shall save them until really needy.

Back in a bit with tomorrows list ...

Oh yes, I'm still up trying to gather my thoughts to write a coherent list for tomorrow.

I'm interested in hearing about a new challenge for next year - also agree that it shouldnt involve clothes, still wavering over heading up the clothes challenge next year; just not sure my heart's really in it or that it suits my particular situation any more. Following you over to your diary now before writing my list ;)

I have 3 days off & shed loads to do, so, in no particular order :

Collect DD1s gift & my weights from store.

    Buy more cat food.

4 rounds of laundry + ironing.

    Take bags to charity shop.

Find somewhere to recycle computery hardware bits.

Locate advent calendar & fill bags without DD knowing.

    Complete 1 x superfit workout.

Complete 1 x supersculpt workout with weights.

Do 1 x serious yoga session.

SORT OUT THE FILING & PAPERWORK

Start thinking about a list of food required for christmas / boxing day with family.

Do some christmas stocking shopping for DD & remember I only have 4 days without her to do this.

Check stocks of wrapping paper, ribbon & cards.

Watch the dvd I've had for weeks & post back to lovefilm.

    Clean the bathroom.

    Hoover all floors.

    Wash all floors.

    Pretend to care about dust.

    Pretend to rake up leaves.

Buy some pansies or similar to replace the twigs in the hanging basket & pots.

Learn how to do more stuff on laptop.

    Go out for a walk.

    Visit or contact family.

    Get to bed before 1am.

    I just love that list!

And you've given me an idea about per una and ebay .... I've never bought clothes from ebay, but that coat sounds too good to resist - even if my trading works, if I can pay £18 for a good coat, why should I pay £100? Have you done much clothes shopping on ebay? How reliable is it? I suspect Souk can give me some answers there too :)

    Morning Karmacat,

Have I done much clothes shopping on ebay ? Hmmmmmm :rotfl: yes, rather !!

I'm an avid ebay shopper. I would say I've had about a 94% success rate. Only once have I had an item not turn up & due to paypal I did get my money back. I've had 2 clearly damaged items fit only for recycling & although I approached the sellers nicely to request a refund, they ignored me so I left them some stinking feedback :p.

I've had a few cases where when I did receive the item, I just didnt like it, so just passed it on to charity shops, but overall I've had a lot of lovely items at very good prices. I do tend to buy brands where I am familiar with the sizing & quality & I really do pore over the description, enlarging photos to get a very good look, I ask questions if I'm unsure of anything but most sellers do give very good descriptions.

I also check out their feedback to see how other people rate them & I also take a look at what else they're selling & I think how it's presented give a very good indication of the state it will be in. I will never buy an item that appears all creased or crumpled in the photo - presentation says a lot about a person & how they care for their stuff. I would also never buy an item where the seller says it needs a good wash or to be cleaned :(. I wouldnt dream of putting any grubby old item up for sale & would also make sure it was nicely ironed & presented.

Shamefully I have never yet sold an item - I just give to charity, but do intend on rectifying that next year ...

Hope that gives you some insight into the perils of ebuying ( probably quite a bit into my own psyche too ;))

As to my list; DD is feeling unwell today & staying off school so my plans for christmas shopping have been curtailed, but i can still get plenty of other stuff done.

Washing machine about to finish the first load so I'd best get packing all that charity shop stuff up & then head off to collect DD1s gifts.

Must go wake Souk up first tho :D

Thanks Lula! I suppose a lot of it is common sense, isn't it, but its good to see it written down. And a good idea to know the sizing policy of the brand - I can foresee a day not too far away when I have a couple of hours in our Marks, trying on all sorts of per una stuff and walking out with nothing :rotfl:

Hope you *can* get a good portion of your stuff done - and that DD will be well enough to rejoin her planned weekend.
