KC I am the polar opposite to Lula. I have never bought any clothes off ebay as I just don't like buying without trying on. I have never bought from the t'internet for the same reason. However, I have made a good few hundred pounds selling stuff. This was mainly old work stuff so from Warehouse, Coast and Ted Baker so I got what I paid for it with my discount and in some cases I got quite a bit more. I list stuff together, give it a week to sell and if it doesn't then it's off to the charity shop but often it does. I kind of know what will sell now and what words to use to sell it and if I could be bothered could do a lot more buy to sell with stuff from charity shops etc but for now I'm happy to use it to clear my wardrobe to buy more stuff X

Lula I'm up and on it. Just about to write my list. X

  • Hi

    I love your diary title.

Your diary has really made me giggle and I love your writing style (but don't like the fact that you are making me want to go ebay shopping!)

I am a scummy cow then. I once sold a pair of someone elses leather jeans as needing a dry clean to freshen them up, reasons being two fod: firstly because I didn't want to be out of pocket for dry cleaning if they didn't sell and secondly because the fetish market pushes the price higher for the opportunity to sniff someone elses frou-frou cheese.

Having provided far too much information I will now return to the land of the voyeur.

  • so, did you get more for selling them to the fetish market then? ......... hmmm, ......I feel a business idea coming on!

    Hello twinmum07 -

welcome to my world which, until Moo posted, was a lovely clean & shiny world, now forever sullied :(.

Honestly Moo - it's not that long ago that you were complaining about some scummy cow selling you a pair of unwashed jeans ... trust you to turn that experience into a potential business opportunity :rotfl:.

I have updates on my list progress.

Decided to try a new method of cutting down on shopping by filling the boot before going out :D. It took all my strength to get the monitor that's the size of a small country into the boot & there may well be an article on the news later about missing/ displaced Belgians.

Headed off to PC world who's website assured me that they will take in any old electrical goods to be recycled. Arrived at the door to be met by an army of salespeople who looked slightly disappointed when I said I wanted to give them my old tat but they sent me round the service road at the back where a nice young man winced & grimaced but put the Belgians safely inside a large container along with the the speakers & the American keyboard where every symbol meant something else.

We then went back in the front door & discovered that it was in fact their grand opening - no wonder they were so keen to send me & Belgium around the back. Felt a bit guilty about that so bought a webcam & new mouse for DDs desktop for a bargainous £11.99 & also resisted a lovely Roxy lappy bag for Monty.

Next stop was Argos to get DD1s gift & my weights. She will be chuffed as she wanted it for her birthday but I couldnt get it then. The weights are solid & easy to handle so I expect to be looking like Davina in about 3 days.

Then into the pet store where I resisted pleas for chincillas, degus & rabbits & escaped fairly cheaply with 2 bags of kitty munch for £1.50 less than 1 bag of the stuff we were previously buying - £13.98.

Scooted to Waitrose for a spot of freee parking while donating to the charity shop & ended up spending £12.65 in there on a few bits to see us through til payday, namely bread, milk, eggs, sugar, fruit, veg ( frozen ) & some chicken.

Finally arrived home where DD seems to have made a miraculous recovery & is now playing with the webcam. So far, I've spent just under £100 (98.47 to be precise) on updating a few bits of hardware that make the pc much more aesthetic, space friendly & most of all personal to her, which I reckon is worth it to give me that extra time to save up for her own laptop. All that's needed now is to keep the thing alive for another 11 months & her hands off mine :D.

One load of laundry done & another about to occurr when the heating comes back on. The radiators tend to dry stuff in less than an hour. It's pretty cold here during the day as the heating goes off at 8.30 & kicks in again at 3. Must get DD another warm jumper & some tights for school as for the first time in 4 years she's decided to start wearing a skirt again.

You may not have noticed but I'm posting here so that I dont have to deal with the paperwork situation in the living room. I cant do the advent calendar while DD around so will do that tonight while she's at guides - yes, she's fine to go & I need some 'free time', even if it is just to do the workout.

Off to update the list & load machine now ...

Hello se999 & welcome *imagine a wave as I cant get all the smilies to work yet*

I've done the workout & had the after bath. 2 loads of laundry are now in the magic airing cupboard along with one succesful orange clove ball & one that is decidedly mushy looking so may well need to be launched.

I found the advent calendar & have now hidden it under my bed - along with the wii fit, dvd, cd, DD1s vanity case, the 2 camping chairs (unused since cornwall 2007 & that awful camping trip which resulted in 3 points & a nasty fine) & a rather extensive collection of summer shoes :o.

The living room is on my hit list tomorrow, as well as beig the place where the files are scattered, it also hosts the dolls house platform aka the dinding table & I've realised that the best way to keep the corner clutter free is to fill it with just one large item. What could be better than a 6ft bright pink shark :rotfl:

The bookcase is immaculate, although the top shelf does seem to be lacking in Baileys, the pc / sewing machine table is pristine, but every other surface is a mess & it no longer looks like my home so that;s number one on my list for tomorrow.

Must go collect DD now & hope not to have to wait outside in the freezing cold for 10 minutes as per last week :(. She's going straight to bed & I'm going to watch that dvd so I can post it back tomorrow.

    Bye for now
    xx

I've been very busy today but it doesnt look like I've done much - no visible sings of cleaning as such but ...

I've sorted through all the paperwork & files. I filled another bag of paper to be recycled & have even more stuff to be burnt. I have reduced the size of each file by about half by chucking out old bills, insurance docs etc. & reduced the number of files I keep by clever collating.

I discovered many more old cables & disks & am now wondering what on earth to do with them & the old cable modem as I really dont think they should go in the bin.

I also completed the laundry & all the ironing has been done & everything put away - almost unheard of for a saturday.

I've not done any exercise other than running down to the garden to empty the compost pot. I briefly considered raking up the leaves but then the sun went in so I followed close behind.

No sign of snow here but it's been very cold so the heating has been on most of the day. Even wearing 3 layers of clothes I cant bear not to have it on. I just dont do cold homes - they're the one place that should be warm & cosy so its lucky that this place is small enough for me to afford to heat it while we're home.

Tomorrow will be all about doing the cleaning & I reckon I'll give the weights a try too.

Trying to watch Sweeney todd but think I've just discovered the first Johnny Depp film I dont like. Cant be doing with all the neck slashing while singing bad tunes :rotfl: so I'm off to bed with my book instead.

    G'night
