That sounds a really good day, Lula, tho any library fine at all is kind of annoying - I protested once, that they'd closed the library because of staff shortages on the day my books were due back (they really had!) and they cancelled the fine, hurray :) All my Christmas deccies are stuck in the back of the ex-coalshed, so nothing is happening here. My Christmas cards are with them too, oops.... I may be gone some time :)

Hi Bowski - no worries my lovely, you just pop in when you can - inbetween holidays etc, it's always good to see you :D

Go easy in that coal shed Karmacat it's probably full of 'visitors'

Typically - now that I have a shiny new snow shovel - I woke up this morning to discover that the big thaw is in full swing & it's all slushy out there.

Never mind, there may well be snow again one day & I will be well prepared.

It seems the birds have found the Fly-Through feasting station, the magpies & crows are picking up all the peanuts I dropped, there was a bluetit hanging on to the seed net & 2 bright green parakeets have just landed in the tree so not sure what they'll be after.

Time to get up now as the washing machine has done the last load so i now need to hang it all up.

Going to make some rock cakes this morning & then go visit my dad, taking with me the christmas gift for my aunt as she lives miles away & he's visiting her next weekend which means free P&P for me :D.

I need to do do the usual chores such as hoovering, bathroom cleaning etc & also want to make some christmas cards this weekend & for the first time in my life EVER, get them sent out early.

Will do a quick waitrose run on sunday after lunch as that's when all the stuff gets reduced ;).

Hope not to spend any money today ....

    bye for now
    xx

_pale__pale__pale_ Thats true, isn't it. I may leave it till the workmen come on Friday, and they can do it :D

Yay! And some of those wild parakeets have found you! Amazing that they managed to survive this winter, clever little s*ds :rotfl:

Have a good day at your dad's.

Oh yes, the first day of the month that I havent done any spending.

I made the rock cakes & DD bashed out a fab chocolate cake. I got all the freshly washed clothes put away & will brave the ironing tomorrow; the great thing about winter is that all the layering required means only the top one needs to be ironed ;)

Still a bit slushy on the roads here & plenty of snow on the fields but 10 miles away there was nothing to be seen. Collected my grandmother & then on to dads where they both enjoyed the cakes. I showed dad my shiny new lappie ( as he was the main contributor :A ) & he was suitably impressed. We created a list of things needed for the christmas meal & hope to share the shopping - he doesnt mind spending time in crowded supermarkets - it makes me really tetchy.

As we were leaving he said that he'd been clearing out the kitchen cupboards & had some 'vintage' items for us. I was all excited & expecting the fab retro coloured mixing bowls I've been wanting for ages ... but no, instead he produced a variety of tins of things like condensed milk & fruit pie filling :rotfl:. All a bit beyond the BB date, but we'll use them anyway :D.

This evening I'll be starting to transfer stuff across to my new diary & also need to continue with loading websites & email addresses into the lappie.

Tomorrow willbe chores & grocery shopping - need to make sure I get everything we need as I have to achieve some NSDs next week.
