Has anyone tried chargeback on their maestro debit card.I'm thinking of trying this. Andy0

CHARGEBACK - refund paid into my account this morning, only £250.05 but it's a start, already told my customers, going to share it between us regardless of what they paid, I'm waiting for the bank to ring me back with regards to the indemnity claim for DD payments - really hope this works its £3290.95 fingers crossed xxxxxxx wish me luck.
PS It's great to keep reading about everyone's refunds, lets hope the word spreads and it's a happy ending for everyone0 -
OH WELL!!! My bank the COOP have just rang me back saying they can't put an indemnity claim in on my behalf, apparently it is usually only done if you don't receive the goods, but if the company goes bump then they can't, the COOP won't pay, because they then don't have anywhere to claim it back.
If anyone else gets their money back this way, can they post it on here, if possible with any quotes/letters etc, so we can all try again.
Thanks in advance for any more help anyone can give.0 -
diana_woods wrote:I paid by visa debit but my bank are not really willing to take me on unless i get written comfirmation from Farepak, which could take how long? I'm not sure how this will work now and if we do get a good will gesture do we have to apply for it? Does anyone else have any more information.

diana_woods wrote:I went into my bank (bank of Scotland/Halifax) on Wednesday and asked them to do a chargeback procedure for me as i paid by Visa Debit and they said they couldn't so came home and after reading this website, i phoned their complaints department to be told by a very helpful guy that they could do a claim for me and that he had just received an e-mail and it wasn't common Knowledge through the banks but as we paid by Visa we were covered under their terms so he filled a form in for me and e-mailed it to the relevant department. He told me he didn't know how long it would take to be credited back but there should be no probs.
I was just a customer who took vouchers for myself and even if i didnt get my money credited back i am of the understanding that the fund wil only distribute to Agents so i'm hoping that i get a credit in my account. I have two little girls looking for santa to come.
I hope that this whole mess sorts itself out and if i have learned anything from this is that i'm as well saving next year in a seperate account for crimbo and to use my credit card.
i did that with halifax and got a full refund on monday0 -
Hello, I am new to this site and I am both pleased and saddened to see all the advice you guys have. My mum has been a farepak agent for 29 years and as a family (7 of us) we have lost over £6000 of vouchers, food and gifts. As all of you we are totally devastated and we feel your pain.
I have noticed things like charge back and claims on credit cards etc but does anyone have any advice for us as we all generally paid by cheque ( from various banks) written out to farepak which my mum then paid in at the bank each month, so basically direct to farepak (including the odd cash payment). (Also my last cheque cleared on 11th Oct, how close to the administration date!!!!)
Does anyone know of any loopholes here that we can try????
Good luck to all of the victims, like you we are at a loss as to how to enjoy Chirstmas.

Sorry Louise, I've not heard from anyone getting any cash back for cheque's or cash payments, it might be worth speaking to your bank and seeing what they say, they may be a loophole similar to the credit cards.
Keep checking this thread daily as new messages get added all the time.
Good Luck
