I have just looked on the farepakresponsefund.org.uk that they do not want to hear from individuals but just agents. I wasnt an agent, I was just saving for myself, where does that leave me, anyone help?0

You will need to go via your agent I think from what has been said. If you just saved direct with them for yourself you will probably be classed as an agent. Even though it was just for yourself. One day I might be more organised...........
GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0 -
I'm the same, just had a look and i too was just a customer so does that mean that we are not eligable or will they contact us as individuals. It wouldn't be fair if we were not put up for help0

I am an agent and will claim on my customers behalf and will copy all correspondance, which I have done since this all came about, if you feel that your agent would "keep the money" just ask them for copies of thier statments etc, as I copied them all to show I was honest all along and Im sure all agents feel the same, and as I have emailed mps etc I have copied any responces etc, so not all agents are dishonest.:A :j0

Peter Johnson & the board could have just turned 'round and said "yah, sucks, boo. Should've been with us", but the staff were seriously upset for everyone, and I think its a fantastic and generous action from the company.
The ones who need to "save face" seem to be the HBOS.0 -
I agree totally NBK, however everyone I know that has saved with another hamper company have all closed their accounts with them, and don't want anything to do with them again, not just park, but all of the others, so far we're talking over £20,000 in orders and thats just from 4 people I personnaly know, they had to do something and obviously this is what they think will work, I hope they do continue to do business, and get back the consumers convidence, but right now, I doubt it very much, everyone is terrified of losing any more money, my pensioners feel as though they have beeb mugged in broad daylight, you can't win trust back that easy.
HBOS and the directors are to blame and if we ever get to the bottom of this mess, we might just find out where our money has gone, I for one will not be buying anything from any of the company's that are still operating after Findell purchased them from EHR0 -
One
Two
From one, people have spent £68 million
From two company received £34 million.
So, that's already half-way there.
Also from two.
On 30 June 2006 EHR announced that as a result of the placing in administration of the voucher provider to its subsidiary Farepak it would face a peak borrowing requirement above its bank facilities. On 23 August 2006 EHR announced that it had requested suspension of its shares as no conclusion had been reached with its bankers over the provision of additional finance.
So for nearly four months the company had admitted it was in trouble and the journalists didn't notice.
Surely there has to be better regulation than this.Just for one moment, thought I'd found my way.0 -
C'mon Martin. Howz about doing everyone a favour by preparing one of your masterful letters as a template for action to prevent anything like this from happening again?
Savings scheme unregulated by the financial authorities should not be allowed to exist in the UK.
But, as qwith so much else in the UK, it may well be that the only way to get our frequently inert and uncomprehending elected representatives to do anything is to approach them en masse and demand urgent change.
I haven't lost out as a result of this collapse but that's only a there-but-for-the-grace-of-God-thing. So though I too will contribute to the Farepak 'relief fund', I'll also wish to do even more by getting financial regulation tightened up: the Farepak horse may have bolted, but there are very probably a few others still behind the stable door, and it's to all of those that the door should be closed.
We used one of your "templates" to secure credit history information from all three major UK credit checkers at a total cost of £6. Your letter was concise and coherent and exactly what we needed.
If you've time, would it now be possible to compose a similarly concise and coherent letter on this topic, one which the MSE community can then mail to Members of Parliament?0 -
hi, to all swansea farepak agents and customers, there is a meeting 5.30pm on the 13 Nov in sacred hearts church, with Sian James, please please make a effort to go as the more numbers the better, hope to see you there.:A :j0
