  • Does anyone know how the farepak response fund is going to work. How will they get all agents details? I can't understand how they can contact all 25,000 agents before 18th december.

Also how will they weed out those agents who have managed to get a refund via their credit / debit cards.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?
  • Wondered that as well. It would be great to get some money or vouchers back to my customers, but can't see how it would work without some false claims:confused:

Apparently the administrators have or will have details of those who have had charge back payments from the banks.
  • Hi All,
Felt compelled to write tonight. I've just been on the farepak website (https://www.farepak.co.uk/accounts.asp) and managed to log in and get the breakdown of my vouchers order in readiness for hopefully getting some of it back and happened to click on this still left on from before D day.

Farepak has been operating from its Swindon site since its foundation in 1969, and has now grown to serve over 35,000 agents.

Originally developed as a traditional Christmas Hamper company, Farepak has grown to be one of the largest, and the most safe and reliable, Christmas savings schemes in the country. Tens of thousands of customers enjoy Farepak's excellent range of hampers, gifts and shopping vouchers.

We use the experience and knowledge of our friendly staff to ensure that our Agents receive hampers that contain the best branded products and the freshest meats, at great value prices.

As one of the founding members of the Hamper Industry Trade Association, we adhere to the HITA Code of Practice to ensure the security of your savings and the safe delivery of your hampers and gifts.

    Like I said you've gotta laugh!!!!!!!!!!!!!:rotfl:

The managing director is called Nicholas Johnson (found this on correspondence received earlier this year regarding the fall of Choice vouchers) I wonder if Nicholas is sleeping now........or sitting there worried sick about his customers.....like me????

There is a possibility that this guy and the others could actually be found to be liable for this. In the past M.D. have actually had prison sentences for such as this.

I'm not in this position but reading this thread is terrible. How could they of carried on taking money knowing full well they were folding, someone is responsible for this and if it is proved there could be a court case. Fingers crossed.

You go girl!!! Good on you!! Hopefully, if enough of us (and it looks like there are rather a lot) kick up a big fuss, someone in authority to do something about it will listen. Personally I think they (the directors of the company) should be forced to give us answers and our money back!!!

i think the only way we have a chance of getting money back worth having is if the lottery join the farepak fund , there are far to many people 4 million would only give us around £40 each!
get the directors and strip all their personal assets! house car holiday villa (where they probably hiding right now)! and the halifax bank they have played their part in taking our money! i want to get my hands on them all,,

Hello!!! Agents>need to make money,Managers>need to make money,FAREPAK>was a business.

Whilst I sympathise completely with those who lost out - did they not realise this was a BUSINESS and therefore a risk?

Personally I keep my Christmas cash in a safe - my wife has the other key.

Why pay for some fat cat's lifestyle - it's YOUR money. At worst put it in a BANK!!!!

I certainly won't be donating my TESCO vouchers.

    Sorry!!!

i feel so bad for everyone whose lost out as they were all doing what teh government kept saying, save up for christmas over the year dint put it all on a credit card in december. everyone who was saving was doing the sensible thing, saving hard and i feel awful for them and their kids, especially those who cant afford now to buy their kids christmas presents or those who acted as agents for family members and who feel guilty now. i cant believe that they kept taking payments right up until the day before they went into administration, how absolutely calous of them. and of hbos to help them keep it all quiet. apparently even their staff were told nothing was wrong up until a few days before.

bully for you having a safe, most peopel wouldnt be able to afford to have a safe installed and some people dont trust themselves leavign their money in their bank account, i.e. if my oh is savign he gives his money to me coz if he left it in his bank he'd slowly but surely withdraw it.

i read in the mirror that tesco are putting some boxes in their stores next week to collect hamper-style goods. i urge everyone to buy a few extra bits and drop them in, just think about kids and their parents having nowt on christmas day due to absolutely no fault of their own becuase they though they were doing teh right thing in saving up, its horrid. ive bought a few selction boxes to put in and i hope everyobe else who hasnt been affected by it and who can afford it will donate too.
