There was a piece on 'Working Lunch' today describing the refund process (via agents - possibly one third of what is owing).

Looking for some advice. I saved £200 for vouchers with Freedom (sister company) i only paid £160 but i have only one receipt. Will i need every receipt to prove i paid more?
Gonna start keeping receipts for everything from now on!!
Hi, My main order was with farepak however I had £1000 in Asda vouchers with Freedom I didnt have anything except my account number, because they'd been ordered with the other vouchers. Anyway try this it might get you into the site, I got in the other day.
If you can't, keep any copies of payments you made through your bank ie statements etc.
https://www.freedom2shop.co.uk/accounts.asp for your freedom account and this one works for anyone with a farepak account
https://www.farepak.co.uk/accounts.asp
they will both come up saying you've not logged in, if you log in with your account and last four digits for your password you should get in.
Hope this helps0 -
Thank you so much! I was really worried about not having proof! Will learn to be more carefully! Again, Thanks"The journey of 1000 miles commenced with a single step"0

Can we ask Tesco (and the other supermarkets) to ask their customers to donate their Clubcard Vouchers, that would not cost the Supermarkets any more of their precious multi-billion pound profits, (£250,000 - Pathetic), yet the man and woman in the street would feel like they were helping out.0 -
I am beginning to see something of a HBOS backlash. A few people I know at work were hit either directly or indirectly (family members and the like) and they are talking about closure of their halifax accounts (no BOS here).
Has anyone else seen this?

Hello!!! Agents>need to make money,Managers>need to make money,FAREPAK>was a business.
Whilst I sympathise completely with those who lost out - did they not realise this was a BUSINESS and therefore a risk?
Personally I keep my Christmas cash in a safe - my wife has the other key.
Why pay for some fat cat's lifestyle - it's YOUR money. At worst put it in a BANK!!!!
I certainly won't be donating my TESCO vouchers.
Sorry!!!0 -

Well I think we all know that now, I think even people who are with different hamper companies will think twice next year.0 -

Somehow I don't think you are sympathetic at all. That kind of sentiment really doesn't help anyone hit by the collapse of farepak.
Bully for you keeping your christmas cash in a safe. (edit due to mis reading post)
There are real people who are having to face christmas with no money, I know of someone who just cried solidly for 3 days when the news broke. This has hit thousands of people who have used this kind of service for years without a problem and are now devestated. Farepak was an established name and player in the christmas savings game. It's a bit harsh to say it's a business dummy, you should have known better! 20/20 hindsight is a wonderful gift!
Here's hoping that those hit by the collapse get some money back.
Wishing you all well for christmas.

I was watching a financial programme the other day (Working Lunch BBC2 12.30pm ish).
This thing where your credit card pays up if you spend £100 or over and things go wrong.
According to them its "Section 75"

Have a look. Its from the Financial Ombudsman Service.
Hope it hleps.0
