OFFICIAL 'WHAT TO DO POST FROM MARTIN' ADDED

Martin's added a detailed post to the top of this thread with details about what to do.

If you think there's anything else that could be added to it to help others please send me a private message and we'll take a look. :)

Although what Martin has posted is helpful most people now know most of it. Most people now want to know how this happened, whether the directors are liable, whether fraud has been committed, whether there are any other companies affected by this or is it just Farepak.

  • I take it everyone's going to watch Watchdog at 7pm? I'd be stunned if they didn't cover it
  • Well just watched the news and heard what we didnt want to hear. They knew back in march things were not looking good and yet they continued to trade. Even if they prove fraudulent trading I dont see any hope of us getting anything back from this nightmare.
Lets hope as the barrister said that us the agents are not held liable in some way as well.

Is it possible that the companies to which you spend the vouchers with be liable in anyway...? Just a thought!

[*]Did you pay for any of it on a credit card? If your hamper/vouchers cost over £100 and you paid all or even part of this on a credit card then your credit card company is equally liable under the law with Farepak, and you should make a claim against it for your money – here you should get the full amount back. See the Consumer Rights Article.

Sadly this doesn’t apply to debit card payments.

I've just come across this thread and I am sorry for everyone affected.

Re Martin's post above: It may also be possible to claim moneyback for payments made by Visa debit cards as well as credit cards. See this BBC Working Lunch page for details.

  • As I said earlier Could you all please leave a comment on this link, it's the Mp for the Caerphilly area who is trying to get shops to donate things in order to help out families who have suffered, please help and also get onto your own Mp's to do the same, so maybe we all get a little help.

I would like to say sorry to all that have been affected. I am fortunate and am with park hampers. But for next year I will re-think how I will save for xmas 2007.

If there was a national campaign to help those who were affected I would quite gladly donate to help make their christmas a little better.

My heart goes out to you all

I'd be happy to see them locked up instead, as I'm sure many people would. They deserve EVERYTHING they have coming to them, and once people find out where they live, there will definitely be a few incidents I guess by a select few. If I was them I'd be VERY scared and if you are, you are total SCUM.
