HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVERY ONE :rotfl:0 -
It has been on the news all day - my heart goes out to the people who have now been left with nothing.
Even if they do get some of the money back ,it won't be in time for Christmas.
I have always just saved christmas money in a spare savngs account - I can see more people doing that now, not many will want to trust a hamper company again.Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. I've been moved to tears reading this thread and my sympathy is with every one of you that is affected.
I am fortunate in that I am not a Farepak customer but I am furious that they have done this and knowingly accepted payments against goods they must have known that they could never provide. The most unforgivable thing in all of this is that the families that stand to lose the most are those that can least afford to.
Its fraud, theft... those responsible should be locked up!
I am emailing as many people as I can and can I add ITV's This Morning to the list as I haven't seen them mentioned yet.

I am asking whether its possible to start a campaign to get the big companies.. tesco, asda, woolworth, boots etc and members of the public alike to donate goods to be used for families who have been affected by this despicable fiasco. We all know they've made enough money to be able to contribute somehow and as we all know.. every little helps.0 -

To be honest I think some sort of campaign has to be good but it would have to be launched by one of the companies and not by consumers lobbying. Its not fair to expect other companies to help but it would be nice if they offered. I hope you understand what I am getting at.All my views are just that and do not constitute legal advice in any way, shape or form.£2.00 savers club - £20.00 saved and banked (got a £2.00 pig and not counted the rest)Joined Store Cupboard Challenge]0 -
Could you all please leave a comment on this link, it's the Mp for the Caerphilly area who is trying to get shops to donate things in order to help out families who have suffered, please help and also get onto your own Mp's to do the same.

Can someone please tell me if the parent company - European Home Retail PLC who also own Kleeneze, Kitbag.com and several other online companies - could be held liable and pay out the money?0

TBH I think it is too early to establish liability as we are going to be the very last to establish the facts. Perhaps an experience company lawyer may be able to assist a little in the meantime as my company law knowledge is a bit outdated. All my views are just that and do not constitute legal advice in any way, shape or form.£2.00 savers club - £20.00 saved and banked (got a £2.00 pig and not counted the rest)Joined Store Cupboard Challenge]0 -
