You go girl!!! Good on you!! Hopefully, if enough of us (and it looks like there are rather a lot) kick up a big fuss, someone in authority to do something about it will listen. Personally I think they (the directors of the company) should be forced to give us answers and our money back!!!

  • I have just found out that an MP in my area is asking Big Shop chains - Tesco, Asda etc to help out people who have lost out to this, but to benefit from this you would have to contact you local MP directly, Maybe it will pass on to all areas, it's a nice thought xxx

Not affected myself as I don't use these sorts of companies. But can imagine how devistating it could be for those that do. Personally I do think that its discusting how customers have been treated.

Just wanted to add my voice of anger to the chorus.

Im a nurse i work part time for next to nothing so i can be home for the children, i put this money aside not just for xmas but for the lean months after , for day out in the summer hols and for electrical items when they go, and now i have nothing!

lets see thier real worth, Are this company going to left to rob the poor? we are meant to be a christian nation and then this happens at one of the main religous events and the poorer ones get shafted!

    Nia Griffith MP

Up to 170,000 people across the UK could be affected by the company's problems,

Many from throughout Wales have told the BBC they have lost hundreds of pounds, a number of them Ms Griffith's Llanelli constituents.

She said she was "angry" at the likelihood customers would lose out.

She said: "It seems to me that we are trying to encourage a responsible approach... and suddenly just before Christmas they are faced with this horrible reality that while they've been careful and put money by to try not to get into debt they are losing their money.

"The chances of them getting a full amount back are very slight indeed."

Ms Griffith added: "I'll be raising it with the Minister for Consumer Affairs Ian McCartney, and I've already spoken to a number of other colleagues and we are all extremely cross about it.

"It's certainly something we need to look into and it's certainly something we need to try to get redress for people for."

Make sure you contact your MP and get them involved the more pressure brought to bear the better.

You can do this via http://www.writetothem.com/

I don't think she was being rude, I have never known her to be, I think she was seriously wondering what people spent so much on at christmas. I was wondering myself, why anyone would get into so much debt for one day out of 365 that has nothing to do with money, especially if they are in the position that they need to do it in such an expensive way.

This is not to say that I don't feel for anyone who has lost, if it was me I would be livid. I really can understand everyone being upset i'm upset when I loose a fiver in the street never mind thousands to a 'reputable company'. I hope you all get sorted soon.
Your right I wasn't being rude. Maybe I should have worded it differently. I am just as shocked as everyone else is. I literally wondered what people spent so much on thats all. I was worried about people getting into debt for christmas. I hope everyone gets their money back and ideally some compensation and I hope everyone has a great christmas.

In future it might be a good idea to save the monthly amount you pay in a high interest bank account. That way you get the interest and not them and you will be able to buy far more with the money than any hamper will give you. But please don't take it the wrong way. I'm trying to help.

Please don't all jump down my throat and start calling me un called for names.

I just wanted to post to say how truely sorry I am to hear of this news. I have read this whole thread and it has brought a tear to my eye. I can't believe how absolutely disgusting this company has been.

To all of you affected, I really hope you can at least get something back and even if not, I hope you have as good a christmas as you can.
