Sorry but ... suspect that is incorrect advice. The DD guarantee only operates where 'errors' are made.
The only likelihood of getting money back under this is if a DD has been taken after the date of Administration. If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -
I too have been shafted for £700.00. My vouchers should have been due next week. I have took off the end of October as a holdiay so I could go xmas Shopping some hope now. I have been an agent for about 15 years I used to have Littlewoods but Farepak bought them out a few years ago. I think this stinks how they can take peoples money and then go bust, how come they did not act months ago, they miust have known. Count me in for any action being taken. To makes matters worse I work in Marks and Spencers and had gift vouchers for them and their give shop opens tomorrow. It rubs salt in the wounds as I have no money to spend thamks to them0

We also have been subjected to what can only be discribed as fraud. Choice Gift Vouchers Limited went into Administration on the 1st of Feb 2006 after two major customers failed to pay their January accounts. Shortly after this Fairpak were looking at their bankers to increase funding. i bet Fairpak was one of the creditors. Meanwhile Findel PLC have been waiting in the wings, to as they say "pick up the pieces". Follow the link to see what a nice piece of buiness went through on Friday 13 oct. Not unlucky for Findel.

I'm not personally affected by this situation, but my heart really goes out for those of you who are. I truly hope you get your money back and that the "directors" (read:scumbags) at Farepak are punished.
May your Chistmases be merry, however you spend them.We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -
The only way that this issue can be successfully resolved is for the HITA, with financial assistance from the other hamper companies, to reimburse the customers who have lost out. If they do not do this what future do the other hamper companies have. People will be very wary of paying cash into any of these schemes. Many have been bitten twice this year, firstly with Choice and now Farepak. One of the main reasons Choice gave for their demise was that they had not been paid by the companies they sold vouchers to. The rest of the hamper industry may be secure this year but what will happen next. At least if a bank or BS goes down you are protected by the FSCS.0

I hope this does happen as I can't seem to see the light at the end of the tunnel, just needed them vouchers so bad, as I am sure everyone did. Best luck everyone - it's going to be a bad night's sleep tonight xxxWhat goes around comes around0 -
Well from next year on the money I was paying for my hampers will now be going into savings I know that you cannot tar everyone with the same brush but then again I am not willing to take the chance.
Even if and I say a big IF this is successfully resolved I dont think I would trust any company with my money again.0 -
i live in a small village in scotland and so far we estamate we have lost over £25,000 with farepak. I had £450 saved for christmas(did have) we are totaly gutted how the hell could this happen. Where has all the money gone, its a total scam0

I think this spells the end of the christmas hamper clubs such as Park etc. I dont use hamper companies but those who get stung by this latest administration will obviously not risk it and i cant see anybody who has never used a hamper company before deciding to start next year.0

I agree, even the other companies will lose out because of this, I can't see anyone would want to save this way again. What goes around comes around0
