East Coast Girl's inch loss challenge

I was 40 a few months ago and have decided that it is high time that I did something about getting healthier, fitter and not to mention slimmer.
Have decided to focus on getting fitter and healthier and hopefully the slimmer part will happen as a result.
So have decided to set myself a challenge.
To tryand lose 2 inches from my bust, waist, hips and thighs. Thats 10 inches in total between now and Christmas eve.
I realise that this does sound rather ambitious but it's better to have sometning to aim for and I would rather focus on losing inches than losing a large amount of weight as I think it's actually more achievable by doing the right excercise.
As part of the new healthy regime I will aim to eat at least 5 portions of fruit/veg a day, thats 270 portions between now and Christmas eve and I will update my signature to show the latest count.
So if anyone would like to join me in this rather ambitious challenge you would be more than welcome.

As part of my new healthy regime I did a 10 min yoga workout this morning.
It's surprising how good jsut a 10 min workout can make you feel, really would like to try and do this everyday.52 Week Challenge £10/£1378

i think i might try and get up and maybe do 10 mins on the wii, also want to start running but it's so boring but needs must!0

roshydoshy the wii sounds like a great idea especially as it's getting darker in the mornings now which doesn't exactly entice you out to go running.
Have just come back from a walk and have clocked up 8200 steps and have jsut had lunch so can add another 2 items to my 5 a day count.52 Week Challenge £10/£1378

Are you me? I turned 40 a few months ago too and also am feeling the need to do some weightlosing again

I understand focusing on inches rather than weight but I've got good scales and rubbish tape measures. For my goal I could lose 4 stone if I'm honest but at this point in time even 2 would make a big difference!
My goal is to get below 11st before Xmas, that's roughly 12lb. First time I've said it.. Gulp!
And I will achieve it by:
Earning at least 500 calories every day in exercise (this isn't too ambitious for me)
Trying to stick with the slimming world eating plan (this is a bit ambitious)
Trying to cut way down on alcohol and sweet things (this is very ambitious
)
count me in!0 -
belfastgirl you sound like you have the EXACT same plan and ambition limitations as me :rotfl:
well, here's to new us's ladies!0 -
Welcome belfastgirl.
We certainly sound alike, I also have a problem controlling my sweet tooth and well done for "saying" out loud exactly what your goal is. Very brave. Totally understand you wanting to focus on losing weight rather than anything else.
Good luck.52 Week Challenge £10/£1378

Good for you ECG

I managed a 40 min swim this morning - and I do swim pretty intensively, no stopping, so I'm happy with that. Alas no walking though, it's been pelting down here most of the day and even if I could bear to go out in it, the puddles and traffic are so bad it would be grim. So I'm lacking on my 500 cals by probably about 150
ah well.
Foodwise ok and have avoided wine with dinner for the first night in a long long time
just have to stick with it now, but dinnertime is my danger time. 0
