Right ho, I am declaring NSD #8 :j Haven't been out all day but did do a couple of hours in the garden clearing the leaves, swept the floors, put a pile of washing in and have a bit of ironing that I am trying to find the motivation to do.

Am a little worried as there seems to be a patch of wall in the downstairs toilet where the paint in the top corner is cracking. There are also a couple of run marks. The only thing I can think of is that it's water from the upstairs bathroom (diectly above). We do have a cracked tile in the windowsill where the shower hits - I am wondering whether the water is running down that and then down the wall, however, it's a bit odd because there isn't a drop of water showing in the celing of the downstairs toilet, which I would have thought there would be if it was coming from above?

I'm waiting for the plumber to come round and sort the windowsill (by the time I've bought the tiles, grout, sealent, tile cutter etc etc I'm as well just paying him as he has all the necessary gear) so I'll ask him what he thinks, but any ideas would be most welcome. The downstairs loo was only just painted before we moved in so I hope it's not going to end up needing to be done again.

  • Hello everybody - hope you're all having a nice weekend.

I'm here to declare NSD 5, which was Thursday. Going to try a bit harder next week as let things slide a little this week.

    NSD #8 today :T

Not done a great deal today though.... have been to neighbours and hammered some more nails into fence panels (that's 3 visits in 15 days for the same purpose, but different stretches of fencing each time so not my work(wo)manship in question ;))

Also walked the dog (4.75 miles), but think another visit to the vet is coming up this week :( I've noticed a few times recently that he's starting to limp on one of his back legs, and having done this longer walk both yesterday (morning) and today (evening) it's very noticeable tonight. He's still keen to go on the walks, and is now starting off at quite a speed which is what I've been working up to (slows down as we go though, which I'm guessing is the leg), so I suspect it's muscular and that he needs anti-inflams as well - fine pair we make rolleyes2.gif

Most of the rest of the day has been spent with my head in a spreadsheet, but not my stock-take one which was the plan.....

I've been working on my budgets for next years Frugal Living challenge, and it's turning into a real headache. I need to include categories that were excluded last year (garden, 'get fit', membership to the diet website I use and gym membership being the main ones) as I no longer have additional income to cover them. And I also want to introduce a new savings pot for replacing large (kitchen) appliances, while making sure my bottom line isn't more than I can reasonably expect to receive as nett pay. I'm actually trying to keep safely under that figure in case I have to take any time off sick, but there are also a couple of bonus schemes I should now have been there long enough to qualify for which will give a bit extra. These will initially be saved in case of sickness, but can hopefully be used (at least partially) for 'want' treats towards the end of 2011. Any o/t will go the same way, and there's a chance I may get some regular extra hours (for a while anyway) as one of the ladies is having an operation on a foot 'shortly after Christmas' and has been told that - depending on how the op goes and how quickly she recovers - she could need as long as 6 months off work

In an attempt to balance figures I've filled in an on-line form to cancel my TV licence (did that yesterday), and have this evening sent off an email cancelling my monthly scrapbooking kit. Really sad that I've had to do the latter as it's my only regular 'treat', but I've had to be honest with myself and admit I have more than enough craft stuff to last me for years (and beyond), and am actually struggling for storage for this as it doesn't seem to fit into nooks and crannies the same way my food orders do ;)

    Morning all

Well yesterday turned out not to be a NSD sad0018.gif as I nipped to Mr T for a few bits and placed an online order with AF (thanks to Cheryl (I think) who tipped me off to the delivery code - I never use them as the delivery to where I am in normally waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too high).

Today will be a NSD though and tomorrow may be aswell - trying to decide whether or not to nip down to Mr T to have a look for their buy one get 2 free offers.............

Will report back later - have a good day all

  • Well after misjudging the fuel situation yesterday ended up being spendy to the tune of £28.38 - all the money I had in my purse! I'm not convinced that it's enough to get me to payday either. It's all going wrong this month, I'm almost certainly going to [STRIKE]fail[/STRIKE] not achieve my target this month, my fuel budget seems to have been totally wrong and my OH seems determined to eat me out of house and home (although in fairness to him he works outside all day so does need more energy rich food to help keep warm). I might have to chalk this month down as could do better, still we'll see - can't give up yet. Anyhoo enough of my ramblings, have a good day everyone.
