:jHi lovely NSD gang:A
Hope everyone’s had a good Friday and not been blown away with these awful winds:(....
Lots of NSDs rolling in today - well done everyone:j - and two newbies joining us today, please make them welcome.
A very warm welcome to all our newbies signing up this month, new people are always welcome to join, we’re a a very friendly, if slightly insane, bunch and a surreal sense of humour definitely helps. We are, however, very serious in our aim to cut down on our spending and are happy to give advice/tips/hints so please ask if you’re not sure about anything. Everyone seems to have more success if they post regularly on here and join in the chat - not sure why, but it seems to work, so please feel free to join in
So welcome and good luck to:
:hello:stupidspender: hi and welcome, of course you can join us, you’re very welcome. Signing you up for 10 now - good luck. Don’t forget to keep posting, we’ll give you loads of encouragement (I love your name, that is so appropriate for most of us on here!)

Hello to:
Keiss 21: really hope the car isn’t too expensive..... Oooh a big birthday to celebrate - can we all come for lunch?I’m house-trained and think most of us are fairly well behaved ... well, on second thoughts maybe we should leave Hubert behind after the outing to your observatory, and the aliens, and BigMumma was a bit raucous, and dopey was singing, and BDINI was painting your fence pink.... hmmmmm. Can I come on my own?;) Sounds like a lovely weekend actually, I’m sure you’ll enjoy it:T
katenut: oooh... the Wireless festival sounds great, glad you got some tickets :Teven if it ruined your NSD, hope DH isn’t too upset about his birthday. Hope big brother’s wedding goes off well tomorrow, I’m sure you can get some free drinks.
Not sure about a relaxing weekend, but I’ll certainly try - thanks x
webitha: glad you have some food now for your kids, hate to think of them starving with you in pursuit of your NSDs!!!:rotfl:
karom: sorry no NSD for you today, good luck for the weekend:)
beanielou: oh dear:(... but I like your positive attitude, there are loads of potential NSDs left in November for you to grab hold of... go get ‘em!!:)
No 9 for spoony today, nearly halfway there... yay:j...... And because of all these hours I’ve been working, the credit card bill is dropping as is my overdraft - there has to be some benefit to working 50+ hours a week and I think I’ve just found it!!!!:j:j
Off to update the front page now, so see you all tomorrow.
‘night everyone

Good morning all
Well, I've woken up today with a stinking sore throat and I can hardly speak ( OH rejoicing;)) I know it wont be long till the other lovely cold symptoms follow:(
We are going to visit MIL today, but if I feel like this I wont be staying long. I baked a lemon drizzle cake to take ( recipe from the Grocery Challenge list) It was dead easy and looks and smells yummy!
Now Spoon - I'm going to have a serious word with you - I hope you are going to have a relaxing weekend? While working mad hours is good for the bank balance, it's not good for you, so I'm prescribing some TLC for you!;) Take it easy!
Off to get my $trep$ils - they're probably BBF 2008 knowing my medicine cupboard ( very MSE!)
Have a lovely day everyone:)

Off to get my $trep$ils - they're probably BBF 2008 knowing my medicine cupboard ( very MSE!)
the only reason my paracetamol and ibuprofen no longer fall into that category is 'cos I've had to take so many recently
Plans for today now include some more fence fixing.....
On Thursday night (when I let the mutt out at around 10:30pm) I spotted one panel between me and a neighbour looked as it all the slats were about to take off in the wind, but decided it was a bit late to go round with hammer and nails. So yesterday morning I trotted round (at about 8:15am, by when they've always gone to work) and managed to find a way into their back garden (was sure they wouldn't mind, as I'd asked for -and been granted - access to fix another a couple of weeks ago).
Inspecting more closely from my side later on I spotted a couple of other sections that look as if they're heading the same way, so I called round on my way home from work last night to (a) let them know what I'd done in case anyone mentioned a 'stranger' in their garden and (b) to check if it would be OK for me to tackle some more today.
Turns out the bloke was not only still at home yesterday morning, but was still in bed..... Oooops!!! Luckily the main bedroom is at the front of the house, but he must have heard my hammering anyway(He made some comment about liking neighbours who bolt the gate when they leave, so he clearly twigged which way I'd gained access and been to double check - but as there is a way I can reach the bolt I'd hardly leave the gate swinging, and if I couldn't have reached I'd have just scrambled out over a wall (the same as I got in!)
They're going to be out most of today, so access will be gained much the same way as yesterday, but they're more than happy for me to carry on doing repairsI pointed out I can't afford to chip in towards new panels (these officially belong to them, but I've always worked on the basis that both sides benefit from the fence being there, so cost should be shared), but that I can afford a few nails and some time to make the current ones last a bit longer - and they took the comment in the spirit it was made. (I hadn't realised they both work for local government, which means both their jobs are at risk and they're also trying to watch pennies 'just in case'
)

Hmmm...no more NSDs to report for me
yesterday I got my eyes tested which was free of course but I had to get new glasses - not a shock as I new I needed a new prescription but I had a voucher for half price frames so that helped
I also had to get buses in and out of town so a spendy day.
Today I have a mountain of things to do including getting some of the crafty things I need for this years presents, the car is also complaining of dehydration so I need to sort that and there's tonnes of housework to do! Hopefully tomorrow will be a NSD...fingers crossed. Those that matter don't mind, and those that mind don't matter0 -
Good morning everyone!
One more NSD collected yesterday to add to my lil stock pile - that brings my running total up to 11 NSDs and 5 NSDs in a row at my 2nd attempt! :Tright ok then - can i be in for this month

Oooh, glad I'm not the only one..... Earlier this year I found some pills in my medicine cupboard bbe 1998... thought it best not to use them:o.
Hope your throat gets better and MIL is OK. :A

Morning....errr afternoonall! Jinty, sorry to hear you are feeling unwell ....you mean to say medicines have a BBE date too? *faints* :rotfl:I think my strepsils were bbe 2008 too, seemed to work fine when I took them.
Hope you're feeling better soon, I'm not suprised you're a bit run down after the past few weeks, and it's when it all stops that it comes out - so enjoy seeing MIL then put your feet up this evening and just chill.
I think I'm on track for a NSD today, decided I can't really be bothered to leave the house so after this cuppa I'm off out to tidy the garden a bit then potter around at home. Should be a lsd tomorrow too, think I only need to go to the laundrette to do some drying (currently only have one set of under sheets for the bed as it's a deep matress and I'm waiting for some John Lewis vouchers to arrive to buy another set) so I needto get them washed and dried and back on the bed.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16
