The “arrgggh it’s nearly Xmas” November NSD challenge

I'm trying to work out how councils are going to afford all this extra grit & man-power, particularly if the forecasters have got it right for a change & it's going to be a l-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-n-g winter. Down this end of the country, they're talking of cutting services like day centres for the elderly/ disabled & stopping bus passes for the OAPs so what on earth will have to go if their budgets are swallowed up in winter costs
There's a right old rumpus over on the 'What constitutes Child Poverty' thread now, with one side saying kids can use public libraries to access the net for their homework & the other saying it's not safe to let your children go out after school! This country is in a right old mess & I just wish I had the spherical objects to get up a gathering & start a people's revolution before the real extremists take it on & give us peasants a bad nameWhile I sympathise with the students, there are more pressing matters that could & should be taking up their protest genes; perhaps I need to go look in the shed for me pitchfork & lighted torch after all :rotfl:
Blimey! Sozz Folks..so much is happening that my political critique has been re-awakened with a vengeance! I'll try to be reserved from now on..but getting sogets your blood pumping & dunnarf warm you up
Can I join you, BigMumma, we can protest together. Lord knows what's going to happen to this country, I hate to think....:(:(The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time

OK I'm back.........had to go and have a lie down after all the carry on this morning.
OH didnt get away this AM. After all the hassle getting to the airport they closed the airport, so he ended up getting the bus home and walking about 1.5 miles from the bus stop. He finally got home here at 12.15, 7.5hours after we originally left this morning.
Anyway, his firm have rebooked him on the same flight tomorrow morning so we have the same rigmarole to face again!:(
Hopefully the main roads will have cleared.
He is currrently clearing 10ins of snow from our drive so we may at least have some hope of getting out tomorrow.
The bonus is,of course, that I have chalked up another NSD - that's 18, so every cloud etc!
Stay warm, dry and safe everyone:)
you will always be rich enough to be generous.0 -

Evening all. I have another spendy day to confess to I'm afraid
nothing too big - some biccies, bread and pepper from Mr T (need the pepper for Jinty's chutney recipie) but there are loads of collections at work atm for people leaving and having birthdays all at the same time so I've had to contribute to those - not that I begrudge anyone a gift but it would be nice if they were spaced out a bit more.
Hope all you folks suffering with the snow manage to make it out for provisions soon - still no sign of so much as a flake down here but I think we're predicted a light flurry tonight so that will send everyone into meltdown ....
HOPING to clock up a NSD tomorrow to finish Nov off with - was feeling a bit down about finding it so hard to get to target this month - but it was only back in Aug my first target was 8, and I've still beaten my Aug number so its not so bad. Just feels spendy days are expensive atmFeb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16
