I've been seeing some lovely snowy pictures of the UK from my friends...toboganning (sp?) with their kids, hot chocolates, all wrapped up in scarfs & wellies..
It is sunny & warm here but I do miss those cosy nights in with the fire on, glass of red & takeaway indian whilst watching strictly !!
I put the christmas tree up at the weekend to try & get in the festive spirit
Keep warm & toasty and see you on the shiny new thread x
P.S. Froglet is still with me in the garden (from Oct? challenge) - he even has his own sun hat complete with swinging corks now
Hi teeny
I'm not jealous, really:D:D
Glad froglet is still going strong, love the sun hat and swinging corks:DThe time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time

Good morning everyone
It's Groundhog Day for me today - just been to drop OH off at the airport bus, thankfully it's running today, and have driven home in a bloomin blizzard. We've had another 2-3 inches overnight. I HATE driving in the snow, but I made it!:T
Wouldnt be surprised if OH's flight is cancelled again today, the first two flights have already been grounded. I can feel another NSD being banked today;)
I am obviously not going anywhere today, other than our ceilidh tonight, Thankfully the tardis is not hampered by adverse weather conditions. I would look out your tartan thermals though.
OK, Ewan? I'm off to organised the haggis pakoras and get the fryers sparked up for the deep fried Mars Bars.
Happy St Andrews Day
Have a lovely day everyone:)

Jionty~Did you ever have any luck with getting in touch with the lady from the craft fair?
Website still seems to not be up & running.
No Beanie, havent had any luck with it either, I have a phone number for her somewhere so I might give her a ring and find out what the situation is - will keep you posted!
Oooh, can I come too? I think we may have just arranged our next NSD outing... placards at the ready, practice projecting those marching chants everybody (BigMumma, I think you sohuld write them. I'd just shout Booooooo! To the lot of it!)
I'm with you on this one - I think all of us on this thread could fix the probs of this country:rotfl:
A big :T to Spoon for reaching target.............
and a big BOO to those posters making our pal Cheryl feel down You're doing really well CW,well done for recognising the warning signs for retail therapy. :A We're here for you as you know!

....Day 4 in the house....I feel like a prisioner because I cant walk in the snow.
..not that I ever watched a whole episode let alone the entire series, but I loved this guy's accent! I've got a thing for regional dialects & have to stop myself from mimicking folk after talking with them for a few minutes
I can't do with travelling in the snow either Bean, so you're not alone. We've got a sort of budget version of a cream doughnut here--y'no the ones with a bit of icing sugar dusted on at the last minute?--but we're going to the butchers as it's undercover. Muvva likes the caff there & I can get into Wilk0 all from leaving the lift of the car park :T It sounds very glamorous but there's only about a dozen shops left trading out of the thirty-odd units available& the parking charges are  But we've got to go somewhere as our local town centre is full of charity shops, card shops & very little else :undecided
I'll get me pen inked up then & get back to you with the chants...it reminds me of an episode of The Thin Blue Line [Rowan Atkinson & that guy from GimmieGimmie!] where they were doing riot training :rotfl:
Just a thought Cheryl, but have you asked the chemist/GP to be tested for diabetes? Unexplained weight loss could be a--& may be the only--symptom & chances are it's not that at all, but no harm getting a professional opinion. It is a well known fact that thousands of us are walking around oblivious to the fact we have diabetes & that is very scary considering the complications that can come with this disease
Almost forgot..my nsds came of age as of yesterday with gaining No 21. I need to brush off my tartan grannie slippers & wash the tea cosy to double up as my tam-o'shanter (apologies for dodgy spelling--it's early & cold!) for tonight *puts a teaspoon & soup ladle on the carpet to practise a Scottish reel*Full time Carer for Mum; harassed mother of three;loving & loved by two 4-legged babies.

That's my DD's birthday too
Looks like Spoon needs to mark the calendar with a double celebration/party that night
They celebrate along with a certain Britney Spears.........
oh, and there are also two others in DDs class at school as well!Prob not a great deal - it's a weightloss issue....
Decided not to log my food into the system each day last week (though I still kept paper records) as I was feeling a bit 'yuck' on the Monday - and was sick of eating for the sake of eating, so decided to just eat according to hunger pangs/full signals.
But when I entered it all yesterday I'd eaten about 1,000 cals less (over the week) than the site says I should in order to stay the same weight.
However on the allowance they give me I'm still losing, so I've been adding on an extra 250-350 cals/day - and even doing that (and eating them all - hence the eating for the sake of eating, as this takes me to more than the 2000 they say is the average for a bloke!) I still lost 0.25lb up to Monday of last week.
With what I ate last week I figured I was looking at 0.5-0.75 loss this morning, but I was down by another 2lb.
Given I was planning to maintain at 9.5 stone, but am now at 8stone 13.25 - and with no signs of the loss stopping - I was saying that the only way I can minimise the loss is to go to bed feeling like a stuffed pig every night. And I'm totally fed up of that feeling - once in a while after a special meal is one thing, but on a daily basis it's not very pleasant
Had 2 other members pretty much say that I must still be "secretly dieting" in order to see the losses I'm still getting - but I'd said I'm generally eating more than my allowance, so I've no idea how they can come to that conclusion (or even how I'd do it 'secretly').
The lady who took over from me at work made me feel a bit better though, as I know the one who replied in the morning is on a much lower allowance than me - so the suggestion was she's jealous at how calories many I getI'm sure it's not as simple as that, but it certainly cheered me up a bit
Don't know if this has been discussed before but have you had your thyroid checked? After DD2 was born I lost weight just breathing and was able to eat cream cakes galore (thought it was just because I was breastfeeding!). Was finally persuaded to go to the GP after losing 1/2 st in one week  after which I was diagnosed with an overactive thyroid.
I love reading your posts Cheryl........you are the organised person I wish I was but know I'll never be
ETA: No NSD today as a standing order came out of bank.Life is knowing which bridges to burn and which bridges to build!
