Evening all - pleased and relived to report that yesterday was NSD number 16 - target met, phew!! Should get another one tomorrow hopefully.

Crazy weather here this evening - we are having thunder and lightning and snow all together!!! Exciting but scary!!!:eek::eek:

Well done Spoon on meeting your target!! xx
Trying to jump back onto the moneysaving wagon ....
  • Oh yeah, another NSD today so that's 19 NSDs. Didn't set a second target as I wasn't sure what was going to happen for the rest of the month. DD's birthday on Thursday and I really need to get a card tomorrow as I am working on Wednesday and won't be able to get to the shops.

We've had a bit of snow over here but nothing too bad (typical, the heavens have just opened and it's hailing as I type this!).

    Keep warm everyone :)

We are having THUNDERSNOW!!!! Its amazing, really eerie though because its deathly quiet inbetween the thunder, but the rolls of thunder go on for ages!

    DD's birthday on Thursday
    That's my DD's birthday too :D

Looks like Spoon needs to mark the calendar with a double celebration/party that night ;)

Another spend day for me today - totally unplanned for, but not too bad in the grand scheme of things (and how things used to be).

Posted on another forum this morning, and one of the replies that was waiting for me when I came home to grab lunch left me feeling rather down / upset / unsupported / disbelieved all afternoon - which in turn became an "I want to spend, and spend, and spend" feeling (retail therapy used to be what I turned to all the time)......

So I checked Whoopsies as I left work, and spent £1.90 on a large tub of cheese & onion sandwich filler (my fave), a tub of cooked chicken (value stuff, 385g I think - great for caesar salads), a spaghetti carbonara I've had for my tea, and 2pts f/fat organic milk (semolina here I come ;))

Still feeling a bit :( - especially as there was another reply that was very similarly toned this afternoon - but I have refrained from any surfing into shop sites this evening.......

Sorry to hear you have been left feeling down Cheryl - this isn't what this site should be about at all (although granted some of the twits on here perhaps do need a reality check at times....but hey ho). Well done though for recognising this could send you into old patterns....and even better, not doing so - well done you :T

Don't take the post(s) to heart - often some people don't realise how their tone of text could be read, and people can lash out at others if they are having a bad day themselves :grouphug: xx

Prob not a great deal - it's a weightloss issue....

Decided not to log my food into the system each day last week (though I still kept paper records) as I was feeling a bit 'yuck' on the Monday - and was sick of eating for the sake of eating, so decided to just eat according to hunger pangs/full signals.

But when I entered it all yesterday I'd eaten about 1,000 cals less (over the week) than the site says I should in order to stay the same weight.

However on the allowance they give me I'm still losing, so I've been adding on an extra 250-350 cals/day - and even doing that (and eating them all - hence the eating for the sake of eating, as this takes me to more than the 2000 they say is the average for a bloke!) I still lost 0.25lb up to Monday of last week.

With what I ate last week I figured I was looking at 0.5-0.75 loss this morning, but I was down by another 2lb.

Given I was planning to maintain at 9.5 stone, but am now at 8stone 13.25 - and with no signs of the loss stopping - I was saying that the only way I can minimise the loss is to go to bed feeling like a stuffed pig every night. And I'm totally fed up of that feeling - once in a while after a special meal is one thing, but on a daily basis it's not very pleasant :(

Had 2 other members pretty much say that I must still be "secretly dieting" in order to see the losses I'm still getting - but I'd said I'm generally eating more than my allowance, so I've no idea how they can come to that conclusion (or even how I'd do it 'secretly').

The lady who took over from me at work made me feel a bit better though, as I know the one who replied in the morning is on a much lower allowance than me - so the suggestion was she's jealous at how calories many I get ;) I'm sure it's not as simple as that, but it certainly cheered me up a bit :)
