Sorry to hear you have been left feeling down Cheryl - this isn't what this site should be about at all (although granted some of the twits on here perhaps do need a reality check at times....but hey ho). Well done though for recognising this could send you into old patterns....and even better, not doing so - well done you :T

Don't take the post(s) to heart - often some people don't realise how their tone of text could be read, and people can lash out at others if they are having a bad day themselves :grouphug: xx
    wasn't this site......

I've never had a problem on here, but I rarely venture outside of the Frugal Living, GC and NSD challenge threads ;)

Cheryl, I completely understand! When I was off with depression at the beginning of the year, I lost a good half a stone taking me well under 8 stone. I didn't get a great deal of sympathy, nor did many people notice the shrill tone to my voice when they felt the need to comment on it.

Thankfully I'm back to a normal (for me) weight. But it's still unusual for a day to go by without some-one feeling the need to comment on whatever it is I am eating (or perceived to not be eating).

If you feel the need to rant else-where, send me a pm, or pop onto my diary! I know what a horrible feeling it can be and how it can get you down. :( Big hugs honey.

Can I join you, BigMumma, we can protest together. Lord knows what's going to happen to this country, I hate to think....:(:(

Oooh, can I come too? I think we may have just arranged our next NSD outing... placards at the ready, practice projecting those marching chants everybody (BigMumma, I think you sohuld write them. I'd just shout Booooooo! To the lot of it! :D)

Just as well I already got deisel today as had to pick up Dad's christmas for and from my mum... then remembered I owed mum money so won't be claiming it back from her. On the plus side I'm a tenner up as she doesn't want what I still owe her 'cos I saved her the hassle of finding this pressie. :j

Posted on another forum this morning, and one of the replies that was waiting for me when I came home to grab lunch left me feeling rather down / upset / unsupported / disbelieved all afternoon - which in turn became an "I want to spend, and spend, and spend" feeling (retail therapy used to be what I turned to all the time)......

((((hugs)))) Cheryl, really sorry you're feeling down:(

If there's anything we can help with, you know we'll do it. If you need support or anything like that, you know where we all are.

The problem with forums is that what people type isn't necessarily what they mean, it's what they think they mean when they type it, but there's no inflection in the voice to let you know what they really mean. It's easy to read something different into words on a screen. In any case that doesn't excuse the poster because whatever they wrote clearly upset you, so that's not good.

But well done for resisting the retail therapy, that should show you that you've moved on and are a stronger person now.:T

    Take care

    :hello:Hi teeny

How lovely to see you back, I was thinking about you last week and hoping you were OK.

How's the weather in Oz? We're all freezing here, please tell us you've got some lovely hot sunshine to cheer us all up.

Take care, and well done for your 19 NSDs, smashed your target again:j:j:j

    See you in December

  • Hi Solvent,

I've been seeing some lovely snowy pictures of the UK from my friends...toboganning (sp?) with their kids, hot chocolates, all wrapped up in scarfs & wellies..

It is sunny & warm here but I do miss those cosy nights in with the fire on, glass of red & takeaway indian whilst watching strictly !!

I put the christmas tree up at the weekend to try & get in the festive spirit :o

Keep warm & toasty and see you on the shiny new thread x

P.S. Froglet is still with me in the garden (from Oct? challenge) - he even has his own sun hat complete with swinging corks now :)
