well I have stuck to the menu posted earlier, there will have been some syns in the sausage casserole as I used gravy granules to thicken it (but not many!!) and I haven't had any syns anywhere else today, a good day really!! also managed a 30min walk as well!!

A syn-free way to thicken soups/stews/casseroles etc is to add some instant mash (unless you're on the Original plan of course).

Do have some syns though, it won't help weight loss in the long run as you may well end up feeling deprived of life's little tasty bits and have a massive blow-out to compensate :)

I have the opposite problem to Dizzy and others, i'm never off the blooming toilet on this diet! Sorry if TMI, but i can 'go' up to 5 times a day, is that normal????

You are not alone. I can go umpteen times a day too I'm afraid. I'm rather like Blackberry-rum - go for a quickie and end up with a not-so-quickie :o

Fear not Dizzy - one day you too shall be like this :rotfl:

Just checked syns online and i think the falafel may be 1 syn each? Not sure though, they had mini bites as 1/2 a syn each, bit confused. Either way i'm not over my syn allowance.

I'm sure I saw them in my (2009) Food Directory as 1/2 syn each.

Oh well, either way they're well worth it. :D

Mmmmm cauldron falafel - love falafel!

Has anyone got a box at the mo as trying to remember if they have egg in or if they are vegan? I know there was a phase of adding egg/milk or honey to them.

I have had a good Green day today

B - magic porridge (HEB 1 for oats) soya yoghurt 2 syns and blueberries

Snack - small tub freah pineapple

Lunch - tomato and pepper soup, 1 slice wholemeal bread (HEB 2) added some chopped up tofu for protein.

Dinner - SW wedges, veggie sausage (still cant work out if Frys sausages are needing to be synned - they are like Quorn but vegan)
    Salad

Snacks - will have some SW rice pud (using HEA soya milk) with some agarve syrup on (2syns)

NOTE TO SELF, FIND FOOD DIRECTORY!!

Have you still got that CD I gave you - that's got the starter pack basic syn list on it. Cake and BBQ sauce should be on there in general terms at least :)

I can't get to club this week so going to text my consultant and tell him I'm going back next week but will try tomorrow after work to go for WI at the class by work - am sure he won't mind.

I ticked the shift worker when I joined as I do have to work some evenings - does anyone know how this works? If I miss a week can I just use it as a shift work option or does it have to be holiday leave? I guess I'm ok this week as I can get to another class.

I'm sure I will have to miss more than 6 weeks during the year due to work and holiday and the fact I cant get off my estate of it snows over winter as I have a near phobia of walking on snow/ice:o Will have a look on the website see what I can find out......

  • To those who cannot go:

Have you thought about having a colonic irrigation? I have, um, been rather fascinated with this since hearing of a detox programme which includes colonics and bowel flushes. :o read up about them but never done one, but appareently they are supposed to do wonders for your problem, and obviously will flush out any backlog while you are there ;) Also supposed to be amazing for weight loss. x

AlisonT, as long as you let your consultant know before class, if you have to miss one because you are working its not counted as a holiday or missed week - its just allowed because you are a shift worker and can't help it. Although obviously its best to try to get to a different group if possible.
