selling your stuff on Amazon - part 7 - advice for newbies in the first post

I dont know if this is the correct place to ask so please excuse me if this is totally in the wrong place!
I own my own business selling hand painted childrens furniture and gifts (ones which I hand paint myself with my own designs) I am thinking of opening a zsop on amazon as obviously I cant sell them on marketplace as they are unique and no-one else sells them.
I know there is a £28 fee per month, but I was wondering if anyone else has experience of a zshop and if they are beneficial and quite successful?
When people search in the general marketplace search do zshop listings appear too or just marketplace ones?
I am pretty new to amazon and have only sold second hand things so far, but have been toying with the idea of a zshop for some time now and would love any feedback.
Many thanks

Hi Helen, sorry for the silence but it may be because we don't know the answer, I certainly haven't a clue how to sell anything other than books - maybe someone will log in later that can help, FFN or Amazombie perhaps?0 -
I've just sold a book for £4, went to pack it and found underlining in biro on a few pages in the middle. I'd not seen this and listed it as "Very Good".
I've emailed the buyer really apologetically and offered a full refund. Not sure what I'll do if they don't check their email & so don't reply.
What do I do if they want to carry on but knock a bit off the price? If I partially refund via amazon will the fees reduce too?
Any advice gratefully received0 -

Hi SS
I think you've done the best thing under the circumstances. Yes, your Amazon fees will reduce pro rata according to your price.

Hi AT
Sorry I didn't reply to Helen sooner, I've been busy filling up bin bags from DD's room - how much tat???
Anyway, best answer (least effort - well it is late!!!) is to point Helen to a previous discussion on z-shops http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=2550534&highlight=z-shop#post2550534
Any additional questions re likely success on z-shops Helen then please ask.

Hi Helen
I'm sure I've seen on one of these Amazon threads before that zshops don't appear in a search listing, that someone has to search your zshop specifically so they aren't much use, but I could be wrong - like AT says, wait for FFM or Amazombie who may be able to help more.
I know of someone who is doing a really good trade selling wooden toys on Amazon - better than on ebay actually - but these are branded products rather than their own design, and they are just selling in the marketplace, as far as I know. I know this doesn't answer your question directly, sorry, but it's the best I can do!!
FFM - full-time job, two children and selling all those books, fantastic!! How do you do it??? I'm really struggling and I don't work full-time (well, I don't go out to work full-time  )AMAZON SELLERS CLUB member 0024 come and join us :hello: make some space and get hold of some cash, we're on the Ebay and other auctions, Car Boot and Jumble Sales Board0 -
