  • I've woken up this morning to find one of the games has gone as well - oh dear, spot another selling addiction looming fast on the horizon!
  • You could roll your Amazon sales into your ebay sales to get to your 5k challenge, it's all the same pot isn't it?...

Well, I was thinking about that...

At the moment, the {eBay} EDIT: AMAZON! I meant AMAZON! /EDIT stuff I'm selling is all personal stuff, therefore I don't have to pay tax on it, and I don't feel I should be including that in the challenge.

However, anything I buy specifically to put on Amazon will have to be declared, and so I think I can legitimately include that in the turnover figure. I'd include my AQA earnings as well, but I think that might be pushing it a bit!!

  • Oh Gods, I REALLY shouldn't have gone into the British Heart Foundation shop on the way back from the Post Office....:o

Oh well, they're £17.50 better off and I have some books to stick on Amazon, including a few D&D rulebooks which a friend of mine was selling for about £15 a throw on eBay a while back, so if they don't go on Amazon, I can always stick them on there!

Any suggestions for getting charity shop sticker residue off book covers?

I dutifully spent 'quite a long time' making a list of all the books on here so far then printed it as small as I could so I could go ont he hunt today.
But when I got to the charity shops I didnt dare take it out so tried to remember all the things I'd read on here.

Then I saw a 'Moore than a Legend' by Phil Daniels ISBN 0-9529641-9-8 (Bobby Moore) and I thought my OH would like to read that.

Then I saw Suicide Squadron by Dan Brennan Large print
ISBN 0-7505-1216-4 and I remembered that LP books sell quite well.

Then I saw a book for me by Jeffrey Deaver and a book with 3 novels in it for my daughter.

Then I spotted a book by David Clarke called Mentally Handicapped People - Living and Learning.

Went to the till and it cost £1. 29p each or 5 for a £1?

Suicide Squadron and Moore than a Legend on at £17 each.

A book for me and the daughter to read then sell on.

But the Mentally Handicapped People isnt listed on Amazon, which I thought would be a good seller (never mind) so what should I do with that one?

I am so glad that I found this thread - thanks everyone xxxxx

  • Would it be possible for someone to PM me regarding getting the "buyers waiting" list please?

  • Hi Cazmanian_Minx,

To get sticky label residue and general muck from book covers I use window cleaner (not Windowlene!!! The magic ingredient you need is isopropol alcohol, assuming I've spelt that properly) sprayed onto some kitchen towel - it works wonder. Don't use too much though or the cover will go soggy, but I find this method removes most things and leaves the covers looking reather nice

I've never tried window cleaner - but I shall give that a go.

I currently use lighter fuel on the really sticky stuff and so long as you 'wash' it off with soapy water afterwards it doesn't smell.

Nail varnish remover also works but is not as good on the real goo.

But, as No3 says, the secret with all these 'remedies' is not to get the book too soggy.

    FFM :)

ps - if any of you are smokers don't smoke whilst using lighter fuel

  • Hi Guys - need your help please

I have a book listed where mine is the only copy listed. I have had an email tonight from someone who lives in Germany. He wants to buy it - but I have it listed as post to Uk only. I really want to sell it as it is priced at £10.

Whats the best course of action? Should I remove the listing and then relist it as being posted to Europe?

    THanks in advance
