My ex was terrible for not getting rid of anything and then when he left and moved somewhere smaller he couldn't take it all with him. I wish I'd known about Amazon then I could have made a small fortune with all his books that I carted down to the charity shop. Never mind.
About 6 months ago he promised to let me have some of his books to sell...I'm still waiting! Not a week goes by without another half dozen turning up.
Still, I'm doing OK. I've listed about another 100 today of my own books, I'm being quite ruthless. I've also taken about 300 to the Oxfam book dump and have about another 100+ packed and ready to go. I've a couple of shelves clear now so am going to fill them with overflow books from downstairs before OH notices and fills them up!
No sales today though, but fingers crossed as there is still time.

I don't post on here often but i'm an avid reader(and seller!)
Can any of your experienced bods help please-i brought a book from our college library that's listed on Amazon out of print & isn't available from any sellers registered with Bookfinder
It's only a thin paperback which i'd describe as acceptable condition;the FEP has been removed & it has library stickers/stamps. The actual pages are fine
Could anyone advise me what to list it for or where to find out please. There are no buyers waiting so can't get any pointers from that
ISBN is 0852909012 if anyone is interested

If it was me I'd start at maybe £20 and have another look at it in 6 months0 -

Wow, 800 listed! I only have 26 listings and I thought that was a lot! It's good to know how many listings other Sellers have.Esoog wrote:Well 2nd sale today, a dvd again, only made £4 profit but its better than nothing I suppose
Esoog, £4 profit is a lot of money! I started out selling stuff I didn't want but now I sell items for profit. My average is one sale per day and I make profit on everything (lowest profit margin = 23%. Highest profit margin = 95%. Average profit margin = 50%).0 -
I have sold 5 books since going pro merchant, out of about 90 listed. Lots more to put on yet, so I'm hoping I will make it.
Soolin, your DH sounds a bit like my brother in law. He keeps his clothes in a couple of small drawers as he's filled his wardrobe (as well as all other available space) with books. And swears there isn't a single one he could possibly part with.0 -

Maybe they are related :rotfl:
Golden eye, I've actually removed some of my listings so I'm back down to about 680 now. I checked some out and I had a few books that had dropped to 1p, but with several pages at 1p listed, so I've added them to my pile for the charity bin.

Steer clear, sounds like a dodgy site trying to con you out of your details0 -

If they were cheap anyway and are not large heavy books have you thought of listing them on Greenmetropolis? Even if they don't show up on their database, unlike Amazon you can add books - takes a bit of time but does work, might be worth a go & you get £3 a sale?0 -

Hi GC
Like Esoog says, that sounds quite dodgy - are you sure you were on the Amazon site? I've never noticed that problem before.
On the subject of a book not being listed on Amazon, be very careful you don't discard something valuable. Admittedly it was in my early days, but I very nearly sent an old 1st edition off to landfill because it wasn't on Amazon, after some research and a few months I got £300 at auction for it - and to think it literally hovered over the bin
