I've sold 9 so far, and as usual I am selling in batches. I sold 6 in just ovr 3 days then nothing for 4 days, then three books last night (2 of which were minutes apart). I've been trying to locate more books as well and am struggling my way up to hopefully hit the 800 listed mark today.

I've also been brave and have started to discard some of my old childhood books. Yesterday I took complete Enid Blyton sets dating back to the 60s and 70s to the charity shop as I really couldn't afford to give up space to them anymore and I had realised some while ago that they were worthless. I have a lot more books to go today and I have to sort of dump and run as some have memories for me but my persoanl stock is well into 4000+ and I really need to start getting some work done in the house.

Obviously when I drop my books off at the charity shop I do have a browse at their stock as well, but books purely for sale do live outside the house so that's sort of OK.

I took the plunge yesterday and went pro-merchant. Can someone tell me how many books that means I need to sell in the next 3 months to pay for the (half-price) subscription? I know with a little more effort I can make it!

I've got two more big boxes of books to list. I did try the upload spreadsheet, but couldn't decide if I only needed to put new books on it, or if I need to add all my existing books to the spreadsheet too. Anyone any experience of using this tool?

There's the problem you see. We used to live in a proper town house with deep stairs and landings and had bookcases all the way up on landings etc. When we moved we had trouble getting quotes as at that time it was estimated we had nearly 5000 books and no one would move us. In the end we had to store a couple of thousand and move just the rest.

Now the house is bursting with them. Every room in the house, all 4 bedrooms, the dining room, living rooms kitchen have huge bookcases. We have several book cases on the landings and in hallways again plus even some in a cupboard in the downstairs loo. I've been good in that I've probably recycled over 1000 of my own, but my OH refuses to get rid of any, so every time I clear a space on a shelf he just fills it with more. I even have them in piles on the floor hiding behind curtains trying to pretend I'm a tidy person.

My cunning plan is to get rid of one whole bookcase full of mine *and* to dispose of th ebookcase before OH notices. That's the only way we're are ever going to get any real building and decorating work done in the house.

I did look to list some of mine but the few novels I have are mainly 1p ones and the big non fiction (mainly history) are too heavy for any profit on Amazon. OH though has some mega expensive books, I know as I paid around £100 for one a few years back!

Blimey! Still my dad always says that he doesn't need to redecorate his living room walls as they are covered from wall to ceiling with shelving, but not much comfort if you need some serious work done to the house.

My ex was terrible for not getting rid of anything and then when he left and moved somewhere smaller he couldn't take it all with him. I wish I'd known about Amazon then I could have made a small fortune with all his books that I carted down to the charity shop. Never mind.
