I did a demo recently where there were lots of older people, and many either didn't have a pc at all, or were very unconfident users.
anyone on here have on opinion on if it woud be a useful thing to do?Any question, comment or opinion is not intended to be criticism of anyone else.2 Samuel 12:23 Romans 8:28 Psalm 30:5

have now done a pdf doc for an ebook for planner one - would appreciate any of you guys having a look and giving an honest opinion. Would have put all 3 planners in but then it would be HUGE, so intend to have another for the celebration planner, and a third for planner 2, and eventually a fourth for the lunchbox planner
it's not complete yet, needs a bit more prettifying on front and back pages for instance
not sure my skype is working, seem to have the whirly symbol again, and no posts for a while

hopefully you will be able to access it0 -

Nothing for me either im afraid.
I went shopping last week which was the first time for about 9 weeks and have stocked up quite well but was shocked at the price of meat seems to have gone up a fair bit. Have some whoopsied mince out so hoping to make a lasagne and a cottage pie bulked out with some veg and porridge oats. Nice to see some old faces again. Am on hols this week so hoping to keep up with the postings xx0 -

I've had a quick skim and it looks good Lesley. Definitely good to have it such that it will form an A5 booklet as that is much more handy than an A4 one. One thought I've had is that it may be worth also having it in a format which works with single sided printing as double sided printing could be difficult in a library for example.Any question, comment or opinion is not intended to be criticism of anyone else.2 Samuel 12:23 Romans 8:28 Psalm 30:5

I should add that double sided is definitely better but I know from experience that it is annoying trying to use a double sided booklet if you have had to print single sided.Any question, comment or opinion is not intended to be criticism of anyone else.2 Samuel 12:23 Romans 8:28 Psalm 30:5

It went really well, everyone was buzzing with it. I took Apple Curd, an Apple Curd with Cranberries, some Mushroom Soup and Pepper Soup, a Chicken, Onion and Sweetcorn Pie with jam tarts from the pastry trimmings, Brownies, Carrot Cake and Peanut & Pumpkin Seed Nut Butter
and demo'd the oil pastry (lots of questions about that, they weren't completely convinced that it would taste nice until they tried the pie that I had cooked in their oven while doing the Powerpoint bit), then I did mayo and flavoured separate dishes with tomato sauce, parsley and grainy mustard, then I demo'd Peanut and Brazil Nut Butter and cooked some Sweetcorn Fritters.
there were lots of mmmmm noises and all the food disappeared, so they must have liked it
I am using more of more of the recipes in my meal planning, and am finding different variations to try too. The Chicken and Onion pie for instance works really well adding in a few mushrooms and a third of a tin of corned beef, or chicken, onion and sweetcorn/mushrooms, or salmon and prawn
I've added in lots of different things to the Apple Curd - blackberries, apricots, raisins, damsons, cranberries - and they've all been completely delish
the latest favourite is the mushroom soup made with asda frozen mushrooms
also to report is a show to be made by Endemol called Super Scrimpers I think. They contacted WI HQ making enquiries about their theme, which is how I got to hear about it. They have expressed an interest in cfr as a concept and asked lots of questions about it. I am hoping that we will get some kind of exposure on the show, the publicity would be FAB for cfr
I've spoken to a producer, so am crossing fingers, I'll let you know any updates
I made the chicken and onion pie yesterday and it turned out really well. So well in fact they want it tonight instead of shepherds pie i had planned to make. I am going to add mushrooms tonight as well :)I felt that the crust was a bit plain tasting for my liking so i am adding a bit of extra salt to the mix. Will let you know how it turned out. I love the whole site it is a fabby resource.

Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0
