I've never tried making the bread - fresh baked bread is a recipe for a carb coma in this house, it would be devoured in minutes. I should attempt it one day though!

oh I totally forgot about that! They haven't got back to me
Just thought tho, if I add a product with x calcium in it then have that as my only ingredient would the % of rda they give then be enough for you to work it out?

Aless how was the saag aloo? This was a recipe that I liked the look of, and I have everything in, but haven’t made yet. Also, I haven’t found a chicken tikka/ chicken tikka massala recipe that I have been wowed by. I had an Indian ex who cooked for me, so have had Indian food as cooked by an Indian. I love butter chicken & use this recipe (though with ground almonds, rather than cashews, due to personal taste):

    http://uktv.co.uk/food/recipe/aid/513782

It is a bit of a faff, as have to marinade the chicken in yoghurt & spice, then cook that in a hot oven to get the tandoori chicken, before making the curry. But it is really yum & lower in fat than the traditional meal.
ooh I LOVE makhani! although the link is missing n amount for cashews grr

I've not been on here for what feels like ages :o I had a salmon pasta disaster last week, my onions just would not cook, I got impatient and hoped it would be fine but the sauce turned out foul - luckily I didn't put the salmon in so all wasn't lost I just had to whip up some more without onions. I've been busy in the kitchen though, yesterday I made fat free anise cookies, choc chunk cookies and I tried out a 'cheat' roast chicken (chicken thighs) it was delish and fulfilled my crispy skin need. Today was peanut butter hummus which was very scrummy too http://www.nigella.com/recipes/view/peanut-butter-hummus
while I'm here has anyone made falafel from scratch? if so do you have the recipe you used? :)
The very best is sometimes what nature gives us for free.

Realistically I do need more help to launch those new things, as my boys do need rather a lot more than they did when the project began, and in different ways. My hope is that people enjoy contributing to CFR and get something out of it personally, and therefore we can recruit helpers without fear of anyone getting too burdened, I think that's got to be the way this goes forward. Do please let me know like JuliMK did if any of you have some space and would like to help.

    Thanks aless, good to know.

sami it’s from her book Indian Every Day (which I have, of course!:o) and it is 15g of nuts.

I was looking at this website over the weekend:

    http://supermarketownbrandguide.co.uk/

Very interesting, as he has taste tested OB products against the brands & a lot of them do as well or better. It is a shame that there are a lot missing at the moment, but it is a one man band.

I had managed to not buy any groceries for 7 whole days. :T But was nearly out of milk, so did get some today. Only bought a few bits, but damn those whoopsies! There was a whole palette of reduced fresh fish! Yes I know, I haven’t used up everything I already had. :p But 40% off & fish is so expensive normally. Restricted myself to one each of basics that will definitely be used (cod, smoked haddock & smoked salmon).

Tee hee! Ok job number one for the lovely katkins, I noticed the other day that one of the nut butter/hummus recipes has an error in the menu bar, so that there is a stray '>' symbol between two of the tabs on the menu bar, iyswim? However I am now struggling to find that page! If you can locate the error I would be vvv grateful and it would help the site be more professional.
