sami and katkins, I think this is my fault! I asked sami :Ato calculate the nutrition and said all the dishes served 4 (our mythical family) I was of course thinking of the main meals, but those whopping cheesecakes certainly do serve more than 4 d'oh

Well spotted chaps, and I shall try to make sure the website has the correct data very soon :o:)

LOL don't worry about it Weezl, I was meaning to say at the time it would be helpful IMO to have portion details on the cals bit but as you know my mind was all over the show at the time :)

ETA - opps! almost forgot to report back on the cheesecake, IMO the cheesey bit was my best yet - perfect texture and scrummy but Sis & BIL2be thought it was too tart. the base wasn't good, I can't seem to get a good base. The best was my first go but it was a bit too hot for me. how do you guys find the SP gingernuts? I used some branded ones so maybe it was just those...

I find the tesco value ginger nut biscuits make a nice base. I really want to make this cheesecake again now as it's been a while. Need to think up a celebration as it seems a bit excessive to make it for no reason for the two of us. We would be eating it night after night for about a week! Ooohh, just thought Valentines Day is coming up isn't it?! Maybe I could freeze half too....

    Great bargains Lesley!

Would there be enough hood to make one of these?

    http://www.made-by-rae.com/2009/02/free-buttercup-bag-sewing-pattern.html

or perhaps a piece on the front of a tote bag?

or the outsides of some of these?

    http://sew-ing.com/make/slippers.html

Instructables also have a new Ible up for panties which I am seriously tempted by, while you've got the machine out :-D

    great ideas!

there might be enough for the buttercup bag, I've downloaded the pattern as I know several people that would like one of those - I have lots of different fabrics, they might be getting them as birthday or christmas gifts :)

am intriqued by the knickers idea. I usually wear Sloggis, which last for years and years, but cost a lot to buy. Never thought of making knickers! I could make the pattern easily enough, the tricky part looks like the attaching of the elastic. I don't remember seeing any elastic like that, and it could be expensive per metre, I'll have a look. Could probably do them with seams with threaded through elastic too, which would prob be cheaper

I have just wasted an hour looking at all kinds of stuff on there, including paper beads. I just want to dive in and make everything!
  • I did find a pattern for some boy shorts(googled) in wide stretch lace, they might have a similar feel to the sloggis and being allover stretch remove the need for elastic.

    HTH

Not been being very cfr, bought that "takeaway secret" book mentioned on another thread, so been playing with that. :D

Also thinking of joining in with this

A 33 item wardrobe, might be fun, some of the comments about finding personal style intrigue me.

QOS, Just had a quick look and that looks like a great idea. Not sure how I would pick my 33 items though!

I have recently had a clearout of my (already sparse) wardrobe, getting rid of everything that does not fit/ does not go with anything else / is too tatty to mend any further, and I do not think that I have as many as 33 items now !

I'm always keeping stuff because 'I won't be this size for much longer, then I'll be able to wear it' :)

I wish I could say the same 'Legs! I have so much clutter in my wardrobe that I forget what I actually have. Although I have been trying to wear more of it recently instead of just wearing the same few items all the time.

I'm sure I have more than 33 socks.
