The cooked broccoli seemed much less than the amount I'd weighed out, and realised that the frozen veg is covered in ice. So weighed it before and after cooking. While frozen I weighed out 110g, but it was only 70g once cooked.
soo, that means the frozen stuff is 64% of actual usable veg, and 84p/kg becomes £1.31/kg, which is still less than £1.67/kg of the fresh stuff currently listed on mySupermarket/Asda, but not quite as much less as I had thought
I wasn't very impressed by SP frozen mixed veg, should have been called SP chopped carrot. Still handy for me when my hands are bad.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

me again
have been looking at other frozen veg
am intriqued by the oriental veg, which includes bean shoots. A fresh pk of bean shoots says they don't freeze, and they certainly look like they wouldn't freeze
has anyone tried freezing them? They are 50p for a big pk in CoOp, and if I could use some, freeze some, it would be very handy0 -

Tried frozen cauli many years ago and didn't like the taste of it at all. Might have changed now of course
cauli I'm alright for, I'm very lucky, our local greengrocer often has big chunks of cauli, usually about half a cauli, in the cheapy box for 20p a go0 -

I have previosly froze them..... because, if you buy stir fry veg, there is beansprouts in there.
I used to make up little bags of stirfry veg for the biddies, and myself, when ever I got reduced mangetout, baby sweetcorn ect, as it worked out much cheaper than the prepared frozen stirfry veg....
To be honest, they are better fresh, but they are not inedible from frozen
And the homemade stirfry veg bags did have a better ratio of expensive veg in them, than prepared ones0 -

ah good, worth a try then
if I can freeze them, I would use some fresh for a stir fry, then freeze the rest to use in more stir fries, spring rolls etc0 -

Can someone check that Poohbear has actually been added to the latest conversations ? (I'm at work so can't check myself) I remember we had a similar problem before as some people are not actually in Weezl's address book so they can get left out.0
